"Democrats don't have any plans of their own..."
Answer with, "Well, it's better than plans that always fail!!"

I know Democrats have plans, but Republicans can only respond to talking points and one liners. I thought the above response would work.

1. On a similar note, a response to "I support Bush because he sticks up for
what he believes in":

Even if what he believes in is always wrong? Just because he believes in something and is too stubborn to change doesn't mean he's right or deserves respect.

Charles Manson believed wholeheartedly in his cause - does that mean we should support and respect him, too?

That's always seemed like such a ludicrous argument in support of Bush. Oh, he believes in his cause. Oh, goody.

3. The Manson Argument Is Very Strong
Good one. Same for Jim Jones, Hitler, Stalin, and Saddam. Actually, right now, as i write this and think about it, maybe "Hey, Saddam believed in his cause. And we hated him so much we had to take him down. Was he right about the things he believed in? Or, was he just a stubborn jerk who wouldn't admit when he was wrong?"

2. It's a good oneliner - but definately follow it up
The idea that Democrats don't have any plans is nonsense. Far more accurate to say that Republicans aren't interested in any Democratic plans.

4. The Republicans don't want to hear them
they are so far away in their own little party, they have forgotten this is the government of the people and not the party. Democrats have plans, just can't get them to the floor unless it is what the Republicans want...

5. You don't plan a kitchen remodel . . .
while your house is on fire. Right now Democrats busy trying to limit the incredible damage Bush is doing to this nation.

6. It's because we discuss and work it out and sometimes things change
based on reality. When you are not reality-based, however, you operate on faith and that requires unchangeable dogma.

7. Better to have no plan than one that kills our young people for nothing
Jesus, how does he get away with it?
