KLTV: Crawford embraces Bush, not protesters

Crawford embraces Bush, not protesters

CRAWFORD, Texas Resident around the Central Texas town of Crawford long ago took to their new neighbors -- President Bush and his wife, Laura Bush.

But they say it's time for the new folks around town to go.

The residents in and around the town of 745 people believe that the Bushes haven't gotten the respect to which their entitled as the nation's first couple -- especially in the past couple of weeks. More than 100 people have converged on the tiny town 95 miles south of Dallas to protest Bush and the Iraq war.

Iraq war protester Cindy Sheehan -- who'd lost a son in a war in Iraq -- had vowed to stay outside the Bush ranch gates until the president met with her. But she cut short her vigil after two weeks after getting word her mother had had a stroke in Los Angeles.

...
Crawford mother of two Kim Williams says she believes the protesters "have every right to speak their mind." But she says "they've kind of taken over." Now, she says, "I just wish they'd go home."

2. Fuck them
Just because Bushy stole an election doesn't entitle him to any respect. He has to earn it.

18. Exactly
Bush will never be my president. He stole both terms and doesn't deserve the title. He deserves to be humiliated and exposed for the lying piece of crap that he is.

3. The truth hurts people, they don't want
to deal with matters of life and death. The President deserves his privacy? We deserve our sons and daughters alive....

Which one do you think is more important?

19. The president works for the people
It's president Bush. Not King George. Get over it. I wonder if they would be saying that if it was someone protesting Clinton, Gore or Kerry? :eyes:

5. I'm sure those who live in Washington D.C.
wouldn't mind the mass protests going away once in a while, especially those they don't disagree with the protestors' stance. But it comes with the territory. If you live a few miles away from an elected official like the president, you have to expect protestors and deal with it.

6. If a murderer lived in my neighborhood
and people came out to protest, I'd be out there with them.

And someone should remind Kim Williams that the protest never would have attracted this many people and grown so large if her neighbor had agreed to speak with Cindy in the first place. Why isn't she urging him to do so?

Nice grammar there, KLTV.

15. I just informed KLTV of the following:
A bit of a heads up:

http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3742804

"the Bushes haven't gotten the respect to which their entitled"

they're = "They are"

their = possessive pronoun, such as "Their dog just died."

By the way, the Propagandist-in-Chief doesn't deserve any respect so that whole line is moot.

;)

12. So? What kind of puff piece gibberish is this?
I mean Jesus the whole idea of free speech is that everybody has the right - it's not only if you agree with everybody else.

Kids are dying and will continue to die every day in Iraq even if all the protesters went home numb nuts. * and his useless war is the problem not the people who are pointing out this is crazy.

21. waaa waaaa!
The rat turd doesn't deserve respect, and if the folks of Crawford want to blame someone for what's happening in their town - they need to ask him. He's done this.

:nopity:
