staging little plays in Versailles, basically unconcerned about the common person. Out of sight, out of mind was her mentality. I'm sure she heard things. If she had any humanity at all in her, she might have had some clout in persuading her fellow aristocrats to look into what could be done to relieve the situation. She was the Queen of France after all and not to be ignored.
