"Bush Begins 5-Day Push to Defend Iraq War"

Beyond the appalling lies Bush will be telling on this trip, I just had to chuckle at the chimp photo in the article. He looks f**king delirious!

3. Hope of freedom? Ah, yes, that's why we went over there.
We're spreading the hope of freedom across the broader Middle East," Bush said. "By advancing the cause of liberty in a troubled region, we are bringing security to our own citizens and laying the foundations of peace for our children and grandchildren."

How many thousands of years have people been laying the "foundations of peace"? And we don't get any more peaceful because it's idiots like * who continue to make war rather than resolve problems with diplomacy. But that would show weakness, wouldn't it.

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

7. Good!
Evert time he does this public support for the war and for him drops even more. Like that smashing success of a speech at Ft. Bragg.

Bush is not the type of president who can take his case to the American people effectively. He's no Clinton and he's no Reagan.

10. Exactly.... can't believe this trip was Rove's idea.
I mean, they've gotta know every time they send the chimp out on a sales trip, the chimp trips up what they're trying to sell.

11. Moran...
As he has before when he has been challenged, Bush invoked the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in his radio address.

"On that day, we learned that vast oceans and friendly neighbors no longer protect us from those who wish to harm our people," he said. "And since that day, we have taken the fight to the enemy."

People aren't falling for that crap anymore...

12. Yeah, I heard he sent the flight suit
out to the cleaners. God bless Cindy Sheehan and the attention she has focused in recent weeks. We finally figured out the nat'l media in Crawford is pretty darned bored during Bush vacation days.

17. He spent 60+ days on his Social Security phaseout.
And we all know what happened with that! Let's see how far he can drive down his Iraq War support given only five days.

18. If he wants to convince the American people...
...then perhaps he shoud stop speaking in front of adoring crowds of supporters who are already sold on his failed policies. Preaching to your own choir accomplishes nothing. But that would require some guts on Bush's part, which he clearly lacks.

19. I loved what Andrea Hackett said at Camp Casey.
She is a powerful speaker - Democracy Now has entire speech.

Mother of Soldier Serving in Iraq Calls Continued U.S. Troop Presence a "Moral Sin"

snip

ANDREA HACKETT:

I think that -- I just read in the paper there are people who came here all the way from California, okay? They got into their caravans. They took flights, okay? And they came here to support Cindy, and you mean to tell me that the President can't walk across the lawn or wherever he has to come and at least answer her question? He’s got a lot of questions to answer. Not just hers.

more

Amy Goodman has a great show today featuring all of the families speaking at Camp Casey, well worth watching.
