I'm a member of an Operation Democracy Team based out of San Clemente, and we wanted to get the word out to others in this area. I created this blog so that people in our area can stay connected, get news on local events and politics, meet up for activist causes and find out how to get involved.

South OC/North San Diego Counties are very strange... between the Reagan Republicans and Camp Pendleton, it's easy to feel like we're the only Democrats on the face of the earth. We're sandwiched between LA and San Diego, who have no problem getting people to organize en masse, and it's easy for us to feel left out of big movements like marches and rallies.

It's so nice to meet other like-minded people in our area, and easier to organize events when we have more people involved. So it is my hope that our blog will do this... It's no "Daily Kos" or DU, but it's a start! :-)

5. I head up there sometimes

But I live in Scrippes Ranch which is in the middle of north county and south county. About 10 miles east of La Jolla.
