The National League wildcard race is absolutely amazing. Right now, the division races are fairly boring. But because of the wildcard, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, Washington, Florida, and even Milwaukee and the Cubs have hope. The AL race is not quite as good, but it's still really exciting.

So why am I talking about this in GD??????

Because in 1993, baseball voted to implement the wildcard by a vote of 27-1. Anyone care to guess who the LONE vote against it was?? Here's a hint: He's got a thing for always making the wrong decision and for running organizations into the ground.

1. NL West has one team at .500. Padres.

They're at exactly .500 and may win that division with a losing record.
Wouldnt it be something if San Diego makes the playoffs by winning the west at say two games umder .500 and a team like Houston or the Mets who may finish 10 games OVER .500 dont make it in?

4. About the only think I have in common with that idiot
I never liked the decision to have divisions in baseball and I liked the the wildcard spots much less. I still would like to see the AL champ play the NL champ and the end of the season.

But then, what would the poor corporations do?
