A disgusting protester in Camp Casey last Thursday
We had just put a loosely engaged group of parking security folks in place (of which I was one) when we saw him.

He was walking up carrying a handful of signs, and holding on to the hand of his 5-year old (guessing age here) daughter. She was beaming, dressed in cute white summer dress, and daddy picked her up, kissed her, and put her back down.

He then approached the camp proper, still holding his daughters hand, and held up the sign.

It said: "Ted Kennedy should drive Cindy Sheehan home."

We escorted him out, all the while listening to him fill the air with disgusting Limbaugh/Hannity/Savage type verbiage. He must have had it memorized.

His daughter smiled the whole time - daddy was still holding her hand.

The next time anyone here thinks what we do is not worth it, remember this pig.

And his daughter.

1. Pity the fools who live in the past and twist it for their own amusement.
They can't let go of Clinton or Kennedy. I hope his daughter grows up to be a flaming punk liberal :7

I was raised by two republicans. They're both very old school though. Nothing like these people. More your Ted Roosevelt type. This jerk is no republican. Believe me. Growing up in the south everybody in my family except for me and my brother are all republicans. Well, my mother no longer is thanks to George Bush. I don't think she's a democrat but she does like John Kerry. ;) She does like Howard Dean but not as a president. We both think he's perfect where he is. :)

5. I am so glad I missed this
Being an advocate for kids, I would have had a hard time refraining from doing something really evil to this guy. Or I would have called 911 to report him for child abuse.

Was he drunk, DB?

Why the hell did he have to have his child witness his idiocy?

18. He didn't seem at all drunk
Actually, I went up to him, but Annie from Louisiana pulled me back, telling me we weren't here to engage anyone. I told her that I very rarely let any of these fools get to me, but this one did.

I am thankful she was there.

I am foreign but do I understand it correct that "Club Gitmo" is some sort of making fun of Guantanamo Bay ? Excuse me if this is a extremely dumb question.

It's so sick and they're in denial about the abuses that go on there. For a while you had so many rightwingers go on tv and claim it was a great place and they were taking good care of the prisoners (who I'm guessing 90-95% are all innocent). Of course people who are in the know know better then that. So Limbaugh made these disgusting tshirts. There was also once a while back a photo of some guys in Iraq (I'm guessing) wearing these shirts.

23. it is indeed sick
To put people away in a prison without lawyers and stuff. And then make fun of that at a peace rally of a mother grieving about her dead son.

That is really sick. I am wonder if I should be laughing or crying about it.

Are you sure you guys are in the "land of the free" ? It sounds more like fascist Italia 1938.

15. I remember that!!
He was at a John Kerry rally I believe and he had some of his family members with him. He tore up his daughters (she was about five-seven I'd say) Bush/Cheney sticker and she cried and he blamed it on a democrat when in reality it was another family member. They staged the whole thing for the media to make us look bad when in reality it's the other way around with the kicking out protestors, the beating of a protestor at the RNC convention and don't forget the loyalty oaths.

Wonder if the wingnut even knows that Laura was responsible for a death in a car accident. Or like dead interns and sex scandals, they only count when a Dem is involved.

Can go through that and still be so happy because her daddy is holding her hand and spending time with her. If only he was out playing games in the park instead of there spewing hate.

But what does "Ted Kennedy should drive Cindy Sheehan home" mean anyway?

21. It's a reference to Ted Kennedy
in 1969, he had a car accident and his passenger was killed.

The repukelicans can't get past this. It happened 36 years ago and they bring it up over and over and over again.

Is it any surprise they blame everything on Clinton?

25. You should remind them of Laura Bush
She was driving home drunk one night from a party (moral values for you there eh?) and she ran through a stop sign and hit another car. The other person in the car ended up being her boyfriend and she killed him. Didn't have to do any time. Didn't have to even do community service. There was proof too that she killed him and everybody knew it in her town. Her friends were all like "Laura was so upset" and stuff. Sure, I'm sure she was, but why not at least do community service? If there was proof that Kennedy did do that I'm sure he would've had to do something too and I would expect it. Just because he is a Kennedy doesn't mean he's above the law (and I love the guy!).

22. Ted Kennedy drove his car off a bridge years ago
The place in question was Chappaquidick, and his passenger was a woman named Mary Jo Kopechne.

Kennedy swam to safety - the woman died.

There are hundreds of theories as to what really happened that night, but what I have told you is what many people believe.

27. Did anything ever happen to him?
Just me wondering. Only he knows about that. And if you're trying to save your life you have to hurry and get out of the car. Maybe she was buckled up and he couldn't get to her in time or something. But good grief: these people claim to be compassionate conservatives? Give me a break!

20. personally, if he was behaving, i would have just started talking to
the daughter, telling her what a beautiful smile, and dress, oh so pretty, and just let her smile grow and grow, as the father was escorted away.

i dont have issue with the right showing their children that they too are passionate in their beliefs, i would never deny a parent that right, unless, i saw anger and hate was part of that teaching.

i fall in love with babies and children easily, wouldnt have been hard to turn that little girl around in a flash

26. One of the policies at the camp is to NOT ENGAGE protesters
I am sure many folks wanted to talk to the daughter, but to be honest her father was almost borderline psychotic in his hate for the "other side".

It is much safer for all of us to just peacefully remove those who are so strident with their views.

You don't want any trouble. The best thing to do with these people is to ignore them. Like little children which is quite sad. And sometimes it's very scary how much they hate us.
