Bush at 42-41% approval, how low will it be when the next poll comes out? |
|
I'm thinking it will hoover at 40% for about a month and then finally I will get to have my George Bush sux party!
So how low do you think it will be in the next round of polls?

but don't underestimate the power that Cinday has had to drive home people's dissatisfaction with the war.
You may get to party earlier than you think.

18. I don't think most people care about that. |
|
They will *tsk when they see it on the news, and give the lil' yellow magnet a pat, but it's the gas prices people are concered about. $$ is much more important that soldiers, doncha know.

3. *shrug* depends on a lot of different stuff |
|
Gas prices are key. If gas becomes even more prohibitively expensive (based on current American lifestyles) it could dip into the high thirties.
On the other hand, if gas prices stabilize or decrease and Iraq looks like it isn't a big bucket of clusterfuck for a week or so, his approval could bump up to around 50% again.
I don't have a clue how much the various other scandals floating around will affect the rating. The erratic way the press covers them, it's anyone's guess whether people are capable of understanding. Hell, if all I had to go on were corporate media accounts, I'd probably think the outing of agent Plame was no big deal.

6. my guess on gas prices... |
|
they'll keep rising, and be maybe $3.50/gallon next summer. Then, miraculously, in late Sept/early Oct, they will drop 25-30 cents a gallon & the news media will trumpet the Bush energy policy & his close relationship with the Saudis as being able to finagle down the prices so effectively.
Of course, after election day, gas prices will shoot back up past $3.50 to $4.00 / gallon, and the media will attribute it to India & China, as well as the XMas driving season. No mention of ExxonMobil netting $35 billion in profits in 2005 or anything.

An invasion of Venezuela could be the next great PNAC adventure, if Rove can't sell some bullshit excuse to invade Iran.

9. the sweet sweet number is... |
|
33% late fall early winter.
The coming storm:
Bloody organized battle in Bagdad.
Islamic Constitution in Iraq.
Fitzgerald's Plame finale.
The oil squeeze pushing gas to over $3 per gallon.
Economic crisis looming as inflation hits during holiday buying season because of gas prices.
Cindy Sheehan's protest continues to put Bush on the defensive. And he will say something really stupid and insensitive again.
Another terrorist attack on US soil.
Doom and gloom? I hope I'm wrong.

14. the poll numbers are faked anyway |
|
They're as high as they can be faked to be without being blatantly implausible. I doubt they'll ever be allowed to be reported as under 40%.
