I just can't believe anyone's complaining about CNN's "Dead Wrong"
Right now CNN and Cindy are about all we have. It's not CNN's fault if no one besides Cindy is making any noise worth reporting on. Our "fine" Democratic leaders sure as hell aren't speaking up, so what's CNN do? They take it upon themselves to come up with something....and people still complain. Yikes!

The show all but called Bush, Cheney, Rice, & Rumsfeld liars.

It cast them as outright scoundrels with the numerous stillshots of demonized expressions it showed on their faces.

It all but implied that Bush and Cheney were pulling Tenet's strings when Tenet gave those bogus CIA reports. Anyone with half a brain can conclude that Bush twisted Tenet's arm throughout all this.

It never once showed Bush in any kind of a positive light.

Without actually coming right out and calling the Bush administration a bunch of crooks, it actually painted exactly that picture of them.

What more do you want from CNN? It's not THEIR job to call Bush a liar.

Thank goodness SOMEONE...CNN...is not letting Bush push them around.

CNN and Cindy. Who else do we have to thank? Our silent Democratic spokespeople?? Give me a break!

3. Thank you, mtsnake. My thoughts precisely.
CNN, for once in my recent recollection, did the right thing and I'm well pleased. And hoping for more!

A lot of others here saw something completely different. I guess we are a pretty diverse bunch here on DU.

5. Do we have Cindy to thank for this?
Someone in another thread mentioned that point. She's brought our side to the MSM and even though she's gotten trashed a lot she's also gotten a lot of airtime and a lot of sympathy from mainstream America.

I'm beginning to think that we should be thankful for anything we get on the MSM that tells the truth to America.

6. The public support for Cindy
showed the media that it couldn't hurt to try. They're testing the waters tonight. If the reaction is good, we may start seeing more facts coming out.

17. No, not SSDD! They ignored the info Clinton gave them,
Bush went on vacation and ignored CIA/FBI warnings, 9/11 happened.
I'm not rehashing Clinton vs. Bush, but I suggest you donate some money to DU and then you can search to your heart's content and educate yourself!

31. OK, I ask you to do two things
one read the following book by Pat Buchanan:

Where the Right Went Wrong: How Neoconservatives Subverted the Reagan Revolution and Hijacked the Bush Presidency

and two, google PNAC

If you still do NOT believe you are being taken for a ride, then you sympathies may lie elsewhere

19. No, in fact
there was a commission setup by Clinton, which produced a bipartisen report. It was done by Rudman and Hart, where they warned about bin Laden, al Zawkari(sic), and al queada. They also warned him about a 9/11 type attack, and what needed to be done about airport security. That report was given to dick cheney who promptly threw it away, and said they would do their own report, which they NEVER did until 9/11

http://www.emergency.com/2001/21stcentury_rpt.htm

After bush took office, he was constantly warned of the threat, but ignored it.

Do you know what PNAC is? If not you should, it is what is controlling this administrations policy. Google PNAC

Bush was told three seperate times where zwarkawi was by the CIA, but refused to order an attack, because it would distract from the war he wanted in Iraq

I can provide the links from MSNBC if you want

28. Bush took us to war, not Clinton
It was Bush's job to be 100 percent certain the information he was getting was accurate. He deliberately ignored information that questioned some of the intelligence he was getting. He only heard what he wanted to hear. He had his mind made up and there was nothing anyone could say or do to stop him and Cheney from invading Iraq.

16. Remember something about Niger?
He was told Hussein did NOT try to obtain U235

Remember something about the tubing, which he was told was NOT for centrufuges

Remember something about the link between Iraq and 9/11, where he was told there was NOT a link

I could go on, but the point is instead of getting bin laden in Afganistan, he had more interest in going into Iraq

Ask Paul O'neal or Richard Clarke?

Perhaps Brent Scrowcroft could tell you

9. I think it has something to do with the last 13 years
Many people are very pissed at the MSM, and one story does not mean a shift

It reminds me of the battered wife symdrome.

People here do NOT forget what the swift puke vets did, and in no small part with the help of the MSM

The DSM is hardly mentioned anymore. Who cares about the torture being done in our name. Is the Afganistan war still going on?

The MSM is going to have to EARN their respect after what they have done

That does NOT mean the story is bad, though it is just a rehash of everything we already knew

11. Yeah, it might be a "rehash of everything we already knew", but
it's not a rehash of what Joe American Public knows.

And when's the last time you heard it told on MSM TV like it was tonight.

Joe Public needs to hear this stuff on something other than the Rush Limbaugh show, and CNN just provided a nice alternative and a legitimate one, unlike Rush.

35. He cares, but he's more naive than we are. He needs it explained in
black and white, something we Democrats weren't good at doing during the last campaign and we continue to suck at it now. Who from our side, with the exception of a few scattered people, have stepped up and said anything to the press that this show did? This show, DEAD WRONG, will be the first time people like Joe Public hear this stuff, because they certainly haven't heard it expressed like that from many of our Democratic spokespeople. If our Dem leaders spoke out like this show did, MSM would be all over them, too.

Joe Public can't be convinced until he hears it on TV in simple black and white terminology. If he does, I think we'll find out he cares.

20. We all need to let CNN know we are behind them 100 percent
You know the right wing talking heads will be blasting CNN and the show "Dead Wrong" s tomorrow. This one hour show has the capability of blowing the lid off this administration. They are NOT going to just sit by and let it happen. I am sure Rove is sharpening his knives as I speak. There was little on the show that I didn't already know, but I am sure that for many it was the first clear picture of this incredibly corrupt administration. Bush MUST be impeached! It"s the only way our country can gain back it" credibility with the rest of the world.

Email CNN and let them know you appreciate them airing the truth.

34. "Dead Wrong" might get some people thinking............
I think CNN got it mostly right.....kinda hard to buck the trend after they sucked up to the administration for so long. I think the main point made was George Bush & his minions who surrounded him want the intelligence cooked so it allowed them to go to war. They would listen to anything but what they wanted to hear. Cheney was out there beating the war drums before the ink was even dry. David Kay's remarks kinda summed up how the administration was operating, they wouldn't let him resign until after the SOU speech. Didn't want to cause problems or upset the apple cart...he said thats how Washington politics seems to work.
