Bush in a Box
"Quagmire" is so Vietnam... Bush is in a BOX. Following are two examples:

  1. Islamic republic forming in Iraq. Alliance with Iran. Sunnis further marginalized. Bush's response? a) Allow it go forward, pissing off many conservative supporters of war (that's not the "freedom/democracy" they supported); pissing off Israel; make women's rights worse than under Saddam; trigger more attacks on our troops from Sunnis; destabilizing region... or b) Find a way to cancel the constitutional process and start all over, pissing off Shiites who will then attack our troops, causing the world to throw the "imperialism" word at us (more); pissing off many conservative supporters of war who would say Bush was appeasing women's groups (conservatives are never happy); Arab world pissed off at Bush's meddling in the process; destabilizing region. (that's right, no matter the choice, the region is destabilized).
  2. The whole Cindy Sheehan thing. At this point, he's politically hurt whether he meets with Cindy or not. In my opinion, early on, Cindy astutely took a "measure of the man" in the White House and came to the conclusion that based on her calls for impeachment and essentially blaming Bush for her son's death, Bush would have too much pride to meet with her. She must have concluded that Bush would not at all consider the politics and meet with her early on (thereby essentially sweeping it all under the rug)... that instead, he would let not meeting her fester and fester into a political crisis, hoping that right-wing loonies would magically take her down. Well, Cindy is still going strong. Cindy has indeed WON, as Bush's is cooked no matter which direction he takes.

For this thread, please add more *boxes* that Bush is in. It will be fun! :)

4. He won't meet with Cindy
because he is a punk who wouldn't dream of letting some average not rich upity woman tell the king what to do. I for one am totally happy he hasn't met with her and hope he doesn't - because it keeps the issue in the public spot light - not that I'm happy that Cindy and her supporters are forced to camp out in the Texas heat.

5. heh he (rubs hands together)
Love it....Bush in a Box. Here are some other very angry people you missed:

3. Turkey. The Turks are pissed as hell that the U.S. is seeming to encourage the Kurds in Northern Iraq. They feel that the US is playing with fire by causing them to want independence. There are millions of Kurds in Turkey who want to create their own country. "leave it to Bush".

4. Don't forget Madagascar. They're pissed as hell at Bush. Why, you ask? No particular reason. They just don't like him.

5. Mongolia. I think there are a few people there who like him. It may not be many, but hey you need all the friends you can get, in particular if your name is Bush.

7. Cindy...has...already...won
She has brought the rest of us our first real victory, as well. What we do with it-top to bottom-will take our measure. This can be the beginning of the end for the would be fascist king and an opening salvo toward the rest of that criminal cabal. It can be the ultimate squandered opportunity, if the placating centrists behave as they are wont to do.
In my opinion, in order to drag the public back toward a more balanced outlook, we need to have the greatest volume and passion from the most liberal among us-that is where the power is.

8. Bush had deluded visions that he'd be a "War Hero President"
he really, really thought that. He has a cartoon view of reality and an imperial attitude ("life would be easier if I was dictator") that didn't allow him to countenance differing opinions. And that will be his ultimate downfall. Too many suck-ups did him in.

How many Presidents have gotten both an 8 year Congressional majority AND a sympathetic, pliant media? Clinton could have done truely great things with these advantages. Bush was simply incompetent and unable to create a vision that would benefit anyone but a few financial contributors to his campaign. He'll totally deserve the title as "Worst Selected President Ever".

9. Bush in Chains
Bush is the Man in the box.

Baaaathe my eyes
Now you've sewn them shut
Jeeeeeesus Christ
Deny your maker
Heeee who tries
Will be wasted
O'Feeeeed my eyes.
Now you've sewn them shut

CIA is the dog that gets beat.

Negroponte is the skunk at the picnic.

I guess that makes us the ants and we had better get to marching.
Red and Blue antena waving
we all do it the same
we all do it the same way
yeah

Candyman tempting the sweet tooth tortured by weight loss
Cutting the corners of the program there's a lose end
Up on the fence can't afford to offend
lose end cut cut cut

Take these chances and place them in a box until a quiter time.
Lights down you up and die.

sorry just having some fun.
