...are successful, powerful, and either have kids or don't want any. They figure they will stick as long as it is good, and don't want or need a paper, which can often lead to complications if one is very wealthy (Carol Channing, e.g.).

They play, but don't invite them to stay, or realize that the relationship has a shelf life. There are the odd exceptions, like that woman who married that country singer with the unique voice (damn, I cannot remember his name).

Demi Moore and her young friend come to mind--why fix it if it ain't broke?

Yes, I know there are a few older women who marry young. Demi Moore is fantastic looking herself and nowhere near 60 like Kucinich. I think Audrey Hepburn married a younger man, but she has so much beauty and grace I think it overcame her age.

I guess it is something in mother nature, where it falls in the norm for younger woman to unite with an older man. However if this woman is in her 20s, then when he is 80, she will be 40. Oh well, live and let live.

On the day that Elizabeth Kucinich was born, her future husband was stumping his way toward becoming one of the most controversial mayors in Cleveland history.

"I don't need on-the-job training," said Dennis Kucinich, then 31, in a speech on Oct. 22, 1977, the day his bride was born. "I believe the city is at a point in its history when it cannot afford to have an inexperienced mayor."...

So here's what's on file in Room 146 of the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. The new Mrs. Kucinich was born Elizabeth Jane Harper. She is 27.

She is a consultant, and hails from Upminster, a town about 25 miles east of London. That's London, England, not London, Ohio. The house she lists as her home sits on a lane in an agricultural parish scattered around a 10th-century church, according to an e-mail from a town historian...
