The longer they keep this in the news the harder the story hits.
Think of the normal US citizen seeing Justice Rehnquist in his make-believe Admiral's stripey uniform. The pomp. the more pomp, the even more pomp, the serious expressions in the eyes of the "trial attorneys", - put it all together and pretty soon, the impeachment convinced people that something had to be there because so much smoke was generated.
Same rules here. Repeat, loud, louder, loudest. Repeat again.
