Bush Is Right For The Wrong Reason

"Much has been made about the president's refusal to meet with Cindy Sheehan; A grieving mother who foolishly thought that a dead son entitled her to a brief meeting with the president."

1. Couldn't she been seen as a symbol for the "1,867 other mothers with dead
children"?

4. I think she's a symbol of all americans who aren't being told the truth
mothers of the dead or not.

Frankly, I don't think any american should have to stand in a ditch and beg the president to tell her why the country is at war. That's something that should be done automatically, before the war if possible, but immediately thereafter and again and again and again. What else is a president supposed to do? Isn't he OUR president?

I don't even think that the president has to meet with her. I think if he had ever told the truth, if he had ever laid out a plan, if he had just admitted that he had made mistakes and was adjusting accordingly, on national TV Sheehan wouldn't need any more face time with Bush.

Cindy is there because NONE of us have gotten the truth. She's demanding it, and she deserves it, because she's an American citizen.

2. I actually agree with this statement here:
"His retreat to Crawford and his continued isolation from average Americans, does, indeed, leave this country less secure. "

3. Even worse, he could retreat to the West WIng ...
... and fuck things up even more royally. They ship him out to Crawford, Kennebunkport, Camp David, and stump speeches largely in self-defense.

6. Or he could be like Dick Cheney...
Retreat and never be heard from, until you OCCASIONALLY come from out of your hidey-hole to say some stupid shit, and then retreat back into that same hidey-hole.

I bet Cheney's NEIGHBORS even dont know where he is right now. He could just be a figment of the liberal media's imagination for all we know.

5. Ken's tone is sarcastic! He's shaming Bush!

"But this is a president who is REALLY big on protocol and precedent. And seeing one frustrated mother could be seen as opening the door to 1,867 other mothers with dead children.

That certainly wouldn't be the kind of controlled photo-op that the Bush Administration strives for."

It's all about HIM as usual. Very perceptive Ken!
