I caught the end of "Democracy Now!" today, and |
|
I found myself in tears as I listened to Sherwood Baker's brother talking about what he and their family lost.
The best one was a lady whose husband is scheduled to deploy soon (I don't remember her name). She said that they give you a book of things to do to survive deployment. The book has such helpful information, it suggests that before the deployment, she should make sure that she has a list of plumbers, electricians, etc. It even tells her which service person she should call for problems (like a broken pipe - you should call the plumber).
She said (and I'm paraphrasing) I'm 42 (I think!) years old! I don't need you to tell me who to call if I need a plumber. Tell me this...Who do I call when I wake up in the middle of the night, scared to death that my husband is dead in the desert. Who do I call for that? That's not in the book!

1. I saw his mother Celeste speak today in SLC |

After the speech she came off the stage in tears and hugged another woman there. It broke my heart.
