I have a ready made answer for the next Christian who "witnesses" to me
Christian Evangelist - God loved you so much that he sent his only son to die for you. If you believe in him and confess your sins..you will have eternal life with the one that breathe life into you and loves you more than anything...

Me - Is that before or after he condemns some guy in Venezuela to being assassinated and tells Pat Robertson to spread the word?

2. Perhaps Pat Robertson is at best a flawed, incorrect, delusional Christian
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 10:02 AM by papau
in his understanding of what it means to be a Christian?

Granted that there are a few others besides Pat with that problem !

:-)

5. I think heard u only need 2 believe in Christ once they tell you about him
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 10:24 AM by IanDB1
It had something to do with Jesus harrowing the depths of Hell to rescue the "noble savages" who died before they had an opportunity to hear Christ's message.

So, I think you can interpret that to mean:

1) You can't go to Hell for not believing in Jesus if nobody ever told you about him.

2) If Xians would stop telling people about Christ, then people won't go to Hell for not believing in him.

It's like a high-stakes game of tag.

"Tag! You're it! I told you about Jesus! Now you have to believe in him or go to Hell! No tag-backs!"

6. I love playing with sidewalk evangelists

I use the "Detective Colombo Method."

I interrupt their script, raise my hand, and say, "Excuse me. I'm sorry, but I don't understand..."

Some of the most fun I had was with a bunch of kids from South Africa that left their plush Sun City Resort to come save souls in Boston.

So, the kid asks, "Do you know what sunk The Titanic?"

I raised my hand and said, "Pride!"

"Yes, that's right! Pride!"

"Like the kind of pride when you believe that everyone else is wrong and you are right and you have a direct line to the mind of Gawd?"

That got a laugh from the crowd.

He hesitated, and then got back on script.

"The Titanic was sunk because of the sin of pride--"

I chimed in with, "And scientific ignorance. The designers didn't know that high-Sulfur steel becomes brittle in cold water."

"I didn't know that... They were sunk because of the sin of pride, and--"

"And they didn't have enough lifeboats because they had faith that they would all be saved!

7. I also have always found it interesting that God only had one son...
That still mystifies me.

8. Easy. One son was just for show.
He wasn't ready to come out of the closet.

9. I got the strangest religious tract left at my door the other day
Inside were the usual cartoons and message about sin and being saved etc. But the front and back cover had no text, just nationalistic symbolism -- all stars and stripes and a big eagle. What does the American flag and the eagle have to do with the religion? They are really getting the symbols all mixed up and confused together lately.
