Rolling Stones off to sizzling start in Boston

-snip-

Not making the show's set list cut was the Stones' controversial new song "Sweet Neo Con," which has drawn a lot of attention for its criticism of right-wing politics, religious extremism and corporate scandal.

2. Sheesh. I give'em credit for writing the song in the first place...
Why bash the Stones? At least they spoke out. Give'em credit for that.

6. Actually.. I give little credit as the band members balked at the song.
Mick was the one that was championing the song, the other band members were too worried about being "controversial". I think it should be on the set list...

3. They made their point. It's a long tour. Plenty of time to play cat and
mouse with the issue.... Look how it got you all worked up. When they play it live, it will get press, once again. They are showmen.

4. They record a devastatingly critical song..
Then refuse to play it at concerts or even talk about it? They should have a chat with Neil Young...

5. That disappoints me very much along with Jagger mentioning Arnold.
Why give Arnold publicity, did they twist his arm.

9. With sponsors like Clear Channel and Ameriquest you have to bow....
to their wishes (and money) and sell out your convictions.
