This is a really stupid line of attack. Gas prices might suddenly plummet, which will leave them in a lurch. Or, it is possible and likely that since there are 3 years before the next election - Americans will get used to the gas prices.

(And not so likely, but possible - Americans will probably realize that the President has no control over gas prices. Energy policy, yes. Gas prices, no.)

Yes they will. The basic truth of the matter is that the party in power is held responsible of teh economy. If good, they get cudos. If not they get whacked

The economy is doing fine, except for the gas prices, and what's a democrat opponent going to do to offer a solution.

BTW, it wasn't the gas prices that did in Carter it was the gas lines(which there are none today).

My personal opinion, these high gas prices are a blessing in disguise, for they help promote alternative energy sources.

No. Gas prices come and go. There's also more demand in the summer. We heard the left bitching last summer, too. No one cared.
If the Gas problem were to get to the point were it was during the Carter(D) years, then they'd really be upset! Until then. I'm not concerned about it.
Just lower gas taxes - end of problem.
