Bush: "The fact that I apologize for the war will be an important change" |
|
Actually, what he said was: "The fact that Iraq will have a democratic constitution that honors women's rights, the rights of minorities, is, is going to be an important change in the, in the broader Middle East," Mr. Bush said in a session with reporters in Donnelly, about 70 miles north of here.http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/23/international/middleeast/23cnd-prexy.html?hp&ex=1124856000&en=8ebae60142d86a73&ei=5094&partner=homepageVery similar statements, from a truth-table point of view.

14. Dirk Kempthorne is one of the more level-headed Repukes |
|
The governor of Idaho is a good leader for the "traditional Idahoan."
The traditional Idahoan--not all the weirdos around Hayden Lake, and not all the RW celebs who moved to Idaho because it's nice there, but the people who were in Idaho twenty-five to thirty years ago--just wants to be left alone. Kempthorne is pretty decent on privacy stuff.
No one with a name like he has would ever be elected president, but he's an inoffensive sort who, if we HAD to have a Repuke, would be a decent choice.

The very things they want to destroy by putting Roberts on the SCOTUS. As far as Iraq is concerned none of it makes contact with reality.

13. saying something and assuming that the sheeple will believe it, |

lie though it may be, has worked beautifully for them up till now.
Based on the past success of this tactic, he's totally expecting everybody to go "Oh, okay, Bush says it'll honor women's and minorities' rights--case closed." And that's what would have happened, back before his approval rating tanked. But now, I think and hope, the media aren't going to give him carte blanche to lie to our faces any more--they can tell the worm is turning just like we can, and they're going to follow the money and the ratings.
