14. Well...not terribly impressed with Coleman's statement

(oops, here I go again -- meant to reply generically -- this wasn't meant as a response in particular to your response, KingFlorez. :) )

Can't help feeling he actually means it was incredibly stupid of Robertson to make public what Bushco is saying in private. And since Bushco self-admittedly operates outside the realm of reality, his proceeding to say Robertson's statement has no reflection on reality doesn't mean much.

The rest of Coleman's statement really must have made Chavez feel better:

``It was an incredibly stupid statement and has no reflection on reality,'' Coleman, the chairman of the Senate's Foreign Relations subcommittee on the western Hemisphere, told reporters while on a trip to Rio de Janeiro. ``I met with President Chavez on my last visit a couple of months ago and he related that concern to me, about how the U.S. was out to assassinate him. I told him not to lose any sleep about it.''

This coming from a person who was only able to obtain his senate seat because his political rival, who would have beat the snot out of him in the race, died under mysterious circumstances.... I'm sure that made Chavez feel a lot better.

3. now this just makes me even MORE disgusted at Robertson
that sob fundamentalist now has me agreeing with Norm Coleman. This does not make me happy. It was bad enough agreeing with Pat Buchanan, but Norm too? :puke:

4. Sad thing is, Coleman will get hammered for this, and Pat will skate.
Not that I have any sympathy for Coleman, but the one time he tells the truth will get him what Frist got over stemcells. An asskicking from where the $$ comes from. Those megachurch 5-mile high candyfloss hair criminals.

6. I think
This is the 2nd time I've ageed with him in his senate tenure. The other was when he voted for the Kennedy minimum wage ammendment.

7. Once in a while, Coleman makes an astute comment...
But it's usually regarding something that just about EVERYBODY can appreciate. Norm is in it for himself; if the tables were inverted he'd be saying the opposite just to make himself look better.

He'd probably run as a Dem come his next election cycle too if things in the repub party continue going wonky!

issued by Robertson, to see whether Bush and the Republican will repudiate and rebuke their Special Minister. No doubt Coleman felt the pressure in Brazil, and chose to tell a peep of the truth. I'd rate it as minor appeasement so the Native Won't Get Restless while he is in Global Territory.
