I wish there were magic...
Cause if there was, any Deity who got used, blued and tattooed like Robertson has done with his Deity of choice would go old testament on his ass in a minute.

This guy makes the money changers at the temple look like St. Francis.

1. we don't see
alot of what 'is'- And our ability to understand so much is still limited.

But i can't help and joining you in wishing i had a magic wand- and knew how to use it. None of us would ever hurt each other again. Or lack for the basics of life.

Imagine this Tom, there but for _____ goes you- I often don't like myself, but i'd HATE to be Pat Robertson. Or so many other folks who hurt and use others without caring, or without knowing.

2. Or as Vonnegut wrote in "Mother Knight". . .
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 06:34 PM by Journeyman
"There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you.

"Where's evil? It's that large part of every man that wants to hate without limit, that wants to hate with God on its side. It's that part of every man that finds all kinds of ugliness so attractive. It's that part of an imbecile that punishes and villifies and makes war gladly."

On edit: being somewhat of one myself, you'd think I'd know how to spell "imbecile."

4. hey, forget
being able to spell it, knowing the meaning exempts you.

i saw "Neverland" recently, and have fallen in love with Peter Pan again. James Barrie was a truly gifted man, and said something very similar to Kurt's quote-

(not verbatum, but as close as i can recall)
"Never attribute to others motives you harbor within yourself"

and "Temper is the weapon we hold by the blade"-

painful truths, in my experience, and ones i learned through the teacher called 'regret'.
