Why does Bill Maher always cover for the chimp?
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 09:44 PM by slor
He just said he respects the chimp's "long-term goals, in Iraq, and most politicians do not think long-term" Excuse me? Remember "Mission Accomplished" before the real struggle began? Remember the flowers we would be greeted with, and the armored vehicles and vests we would NOT need, because of the quick victory? It was all stupid poor planning, based on LIES!

1. It's just a way to keep the right wing engaged ...besides, they may
change their minds if they listen long enough.

4. He's trying to portray himself as non-partisan, but
I don't think it has sunk in that being non-partisan in this climate is like saying that Hitler was a great guy back in the 30's. He's not a dumb guy though so I'm sure he will get it eventually.

8. He gets plenty of Chimp digs in on his show...
Like was said above he needs to keep the RWers involved somewhat so he has people like those two dweebs on his panel this week on for "balance".

Besides everyone is entitled to his viewpoint.

9. Everyone may be entitled to their viewpoint
but when that viewpoint is rooted in ignorance, it's very difficult to take someone seriously.

I'm especially tired of his recent defense of the Iraq war. I'm sorry, but Bush is not sincere about anything, let alone bringing democracy to anyone.

10. All in all...
his show still lampoons Bush much more than it glorifies him.

11. Maybe he believes it.
I think he is wrong on that, but right that Bush thinks he is hearing Jesus voice telling him what to do. The evidence is to the contrary, but since when has Bush listened to anyone who disagrees with him.
