AQ Khan transferred centrifuges to N Korea: Musharraf
http://sify.com/news/fullstory.php?id=13924496

Islamabad: Giving details of disgraced scientist AQ Khan's clandestine nuclear transfers for the first time, Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has said the country's top atomic expert had provided North Korea with centrifuges and their designs.

"Yes, he passed centrifuges - parts and complete. I do not exactly remember the number," Musharraf told Japan's Kyodo news agency, but played down the roles these transfers had played in North Korea's bid to acquire nuclear weapons capability.

In February 2004, Khan, regarded as the father of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, had confessed to having supplied nuclear technology and know-how to North Korea, Libya and Iran. He was subsequently pardoned by the President, but had been in virtual house arrest here since then.

1. I'm so glad we attacked Iraq and Iran who don't have weapons programs...
And let Kim who has nukes to continue to go on his merry way.

Once again, moron* only goes after the little guys because he's* a cowardly bully. He doesn't have the guts or integrety to go and deal with Kim properly. But then again Kim doesn't have oil.

It would be an amazing thing if suddenly there was a huge oil deposit discovered in N.Korea, suddenly, N.K. would become important.

so while niro* fiddles, Kim builds nukes and we burn.

colossal failure*.

3. I know there's so much republican lunacy to cover
but I wonder if its not this kind of story that we might spend some time discussing. In this case its pretty clear what has transpired. I pray there's enough for Fitzgerald to sink his teeth into, though I doubt it.

Musharraf Confirms Pakistani Scientist Passed Nuclear Secrets to N. Korea
By Ayaz Gul
Islamabad
24 August 2005

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has confirmed for the first time that his country's former top scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan, transferred centrifuges and their designs - the type used to make fuel for nuclear weapons - to North Korea.

President Musharraf says that the country's disgraced scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan, provided North Korea with centrifuges and their designs, but he played down the importance such transfers alone could have had in helping Pyongyang develop nuclear weapons.

Pakistani officials have previously confirmed Mr. Khan's proliferation activities, and the scientist himself confessed last year to having transferred nuclear secrets to Iran, North Korea and Libya. But this is the first time President Musharraf has disclosed the extent of the illegal cooperation between Pyongyang and the founder of Pakistan's nuclear weapons program.

In an interview with the Japanese news agency Kyodo, President Musharraf indicates that Mr. Khan helped North Korea only in the enrichment of uranium, an early step in nuclear bomb-making, and was not involved in the other processes required to make a bomb.

Yeah, thanks for the heads-up, Musharref. With allies like you, who needs al-Qaeda? Oh wait, same difference.
