Pat Robertson's contract - question |
|
I've replied on this several times in separate threads and have gotten no reponse yet.
But, don't most contracts have a "morals" clause where if you do something against the law or hurtful to the image of ABC Family, they can cancel the contract and/or fire you?
Please correct me if I am wrong. Or, maybe since Radical Cleric Pat is a so-called man of god, he does not have to sign that clause?

2. There probably is a morals clause |
|
The only reason they don't break the contract and tell this idiot to hit the road is he's pulling in money for them, once he becomes a finacial drain, or if he were already they would drop him like a hot potato.

4. There are two kinds of contracts in Robertson's world. |
|
One contract is a "hit" on a foreign leader, the other kind of contract is with ABC or other networks.
This moran should get shitcanned for both.

5. Considering the caliber of attorneys that Robertson has at his side.... |
|
I wouldn't be surprised if that clause requireing ABC Family to air The 700 Club is about as impossible to crack as Fort Knox.

6. Robertson's Not An Employee |
|
The 700 Club is on that network as a contractual holdover from the days Robertson owned the channel outright as the CBN Channel. In the late 90's, Robertson sold the network to Rupert Murdoch and Fox. As part of their deal, Murdoch allowed Robertson's 700 Club to continue "into perpetuity" (or that's what I've read from several sources) on the channel.
Murdoch/Fox sold the channel to ABC/Disney a couple years ago and with it, the Robertson deal. It's kinda like someone owning an apartment building they once owned, but as part of the sale to a previous owner, they were allowed to keep their apartment.
ABC has no control over either the content or has any responsibility in policing what Robertson does. Since it's on cable, there's really no government agency that has juridisdiction.
While I think Robertson's a slimy charlatan (one of many), his only "crime" is being stupid...and sadly there's no legislation against that, yet. If that were the case, 95% of the GOOP would be locked up.
