the president, we will stay, we will fight and we will win the war on terror."

There he said it, as long as he's prez we're staying there.

(This was the end catch phrase to explaining why we won't "embolden" the terrorists by withdrawing).

The applause seemed to tone down after that point. MKJ

It's a "war" that can never be won.

3. Or until they carry him off screaming and frothing at the mouth,
which looks more and more likely from the almost hysterical speeches he's making these days!....Red faced and chin jerking!

4. Shinseki was booted for saying he needed 300,000 troops
Schoomaker says at least 100,000 for another four years (worst-case scenario). Well, we're seeing worst-case scenario right now!!!

6. As David Cross brilliantly stated,
"Fighting a war on terror is like fighting a war on jealousy."

8. Seriously???
So even if Iraq settled on a consitution and got their country's defenses in order, he has no intention of leaving. This confirms it, he is President of Iraq.

9. I had to replay it to capture the wording. Yes, he said exactly that.
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 01:15 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
He did while tapping forcefully on the podium.

I couldn't believe that line got applause, considering the audience..or what we were told the audience would be.

No shots of the audience were shown....hmmmm.MKJ

13. To think....
Before this started people were hoping it would last under a year. He has really 'beaten us down' hasn't he? Fascists oppose the will of the people to that end alone. The more he beats us down the more people accept being beaten down.

Now he says we're never leaving as long as he's in charge, and people are like, "oh well we knew that anyway." Sad.

Why doesn't he ever say that? It's what he's thinking.

12. We need a clarification from him and others
What is the war on terrorism and do we win when there is no such thing as terrorism in the world? That's not possible, so, what is the war on terrorism? Ask them.

14. Again, the "we will fight" he's talking about does not include him...
Never did. And as a matter of fact, doesn't include Jenna either...

It's so sad how low our expectations have become.
