Time to stop hammering Bush. |
|
Bush is a lame duck. He can't be re-elected. We have congressional elections in 2006. Start hammering the entire Republican party. When bashing the war in Iraq, link it to the Republican Administration.
Link everything to the "Republicans in power." Be specific when you can. Link Tom Delay to sleazy stuff put in the Energy Bill. Mention Don Young's (R Alaska) name when talking about pork in the highway bill.
Repetition works. Repeat the word Republican in as many situations as possible.
Make Republican a pejorative word like they did with liberal.

1. Yes. I think the Governors races are key. Anyone know how |
|
many Governor races are on for 2006? Gotta get rid of those crooked Secretaries of State.

we do need to hammer those useless republicans who are the complete opposite of what they say they stand for.
"say one thing, do another" republicans.

8. Funny you say that. I have a friend who votes Republican and |
|
when I ask why he says the talk about what he believes in: smaller government, more individual rights, lower taxes, balanced budget, etc.
When I point out that the Republicans have done none of that even if they say they will and that the last time any of that happened was under Bill Clinton he just says,"Yeah, but at least the Republicans say things I believe . . ."
Go figure.

they turn around and DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE. That should have been your hammering point.
I can respect true republicans, but the honest truth is this:
The Neocons have been looting, pillaging, and plundering (literally), and the core of republican ideals have been lost. The fundamentalist christians who are die hard repubs have been thrown some scraps, but the old style conservatives have been left out in the cold.

25. Naaa, he quit defending Bush about six months ago. Now I'm working |
|
on the whole Republican thing. He keeps saying "they all do it" and I keep saying that in that case he should just stay home or better yet vote with me so I'll quit bitchin' at him.

3. He was a lame duck in February 2001. |
|
I clearly remember August 2001, when those of us paying attention were perturbed that he had chosen to take a month off after only seven months in office.
I've said this a thousand times...9/11 was the greatest thing that ever happened to George W. Bush.

I kind of liked that talking point. Washington doesn't someone to show up and just simply OK everything that comes out of the extreme right wing agenda.

|
He's a criminal. I see no reason to not point that out...often. In the meantime, most Republicans running in 2006 can be tied to his disastrous albatross of a mis-administration. His failures are their failures. Connect the coattails.

14. I'm just saying instead of blaming Bush, use the words "Republican |
|
Administration". Lather, rinse and repeat. Use the word Republican every time you talk about any of the failed policies even if Bush is at the heart. Get out that broad brush we all talk about!

He's part of the package. Bush=Raw Deal Republicans. He's connected to Republicans running in 2006. Hopefully he'll drag them all down. Why let up now when he's at 36% approval? Hammer now while we're still allowed. September 24th approaches.

Bush is a lame duck that we need to hang around ever Repukes neck. The lower his numbers go, the more they all bleed. We need to go after him through next summer. Every right wing nut that went to his side will have crow to eat.

17. I don't think we disagree. You and I are saying the same thing. |
|
My point is that we need to defeat the Republican Majority and we can move in that direction by changing emphasis from "Bush the individual" to "Bush the Republican" or "The Republican's leader, Bush." Taint the word Republican with failure.
Republican Iraq War=failure Republican Safety from terror=failure Republican SS reform=failure Republican Medicare drug benefit=failure Republican No child left behind=failure Republican Economy=failure Republican IRS reform=failure
The only success the Republicans have had is ensuring that Paris Hilton will not pay taxes on her inheritance.

13. You are spot on. This disaster was of their making. This division |
|
is their doing. They morphed from a political party to a ruling party and with almost the entire government in their hands they failed.
They lied about the failures. They refused to uphold constitutional prerogatives of the Congress. They became complicit in a Fraud and co-conspirators in covering it up. They betrayed their principles and worst of all they have put Party above Country.
You can't have an America with two Republican Parties and it is arguable if you can have an America with one Republican Party.

Every time one of those goons supports the war or defends DeLay or whatever, clip it or save it to your hard drive for use later. We're going after three incumbant thugs here in Illinois, and we're going to have a very good time throwing their words back at them.
