"Bring It On."

As the heat of August still burns over Crawford, Texas (and, yes, Fayetteville, Arkansas), men and women; fathers and mothers; civilians and veterans alike stand en masse on a plot of land across from President Bush's "ranch."

The onus of the Republican party was to find someone that could defeat Clintonian politics and they figured another Reagan could do it. So, they fashioned another Reagan, since no "real" (see: Reagan, Michael) Reagan worth his salt would be a Republican (unless, of course, some of dad's easily sold blood and thoughts shined through). So, they found George W. Bush and fashioned themselves a Camelot. The problem was the foundation, unlike the Kennedys, was simply third rate concrete, poured on sand and fashioned much too quickly. So, they built G.W. up, focused on his "faith" and his "manhood."

They knew his connections with Big Oil, with the military and the like. They knew his attitude and demeanor were no better than a ten year old child that had received everything on a silver platter. So, they made sure they had a Congress that would do as he wished, Democrat and Republican alike.

When 9/11 happened (and yes, we are fairly sure what occurred), that was exactly what those that backed Bush needed. It was the distraction that could get that lucrative pipeline from Afghanistan and Iraq, but damn it, they now need Iran to complete it. You see, Israel is perfectly happy with this idea because the pipeline would run to the Mediterranean Sea.

What they did not account for would be the failure to cover up all loose ends with the DSM, with the parents of the dead in Iraq, with the missing money from the Halliburton contracts. And, now, Frist, Hagel, and others have broken with Bush's policies in some form or another. Meanwhile, McCain sits in the background, skulking about and hugging Bush and Rove though they stabbed him through his heart. McCain's strength was supposed to have been legendary; it's sad when a hero turns out to be nothing more than a partisan tool. McCain's story reflects that of other Republicans that could be so much more than tools because they are not benefitting from this regime in the way that Bush, Cheney, Rove, Delay, and Halliburton are.

But, dissent is something that is becoming all too common on Capitol Hill and those that overlooked the election fraud are beginning to regret that decision. In the words of Hunter S. Thompson, in his last column to ESPN Page 2, (paraphrased) Bush, Cheney and his crew would be removed from office and slapped down so hard that they would be sent to the World Court in the Hague. Mind you, as well, that Blair just now is mulling a position over with the Carslyle Group. No amount of payoffs can protect one from the wrath of the public. So, President Bush, I tell this to you and anyone of your incessant crew of hangers on: Bring it on, motherfucker, because you started something you sure as hell can't finish and people have had enough of death and lies.

I'm keeping my eyes on that situation though my family and my school keeps me here in Fayetteville, though should something that I feel should arise that is necessary, I shall go. That being said: I've been thinking about a vigil here on the campus of the U of A.
