Car checks indicate Diana death an accident

INVESTIGATORS probing the death of the Princess of Wales now strongly believe she was the victim of a tragic accident.

New forensic examinations of the wrecked Mercedes car in which she died along with her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and the driver Henri Paul are said to have "dramatically progressed" the inquiry.


It is understood that painstaking checks by experts and officers on the brakes and seatbelts of the car - which is now in Britain - have indicated that it was in "good working order" and not at fault for the accident.

Conspiracy theorists have often said that the car had been tampered with, and speculation was further fuelled when a letter emerged which Diana allegedly wrote saying Prince Charles was behind a plot to kill her.
