White House Denies Bush is on Vacation (WH Renovation Blamed)
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 12:12 PM by RamboLiberal
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2005/08/25/white_house_denies_bush_is_on_vacation.html

The White House seems to be a little defensive about President Bush's summer vacation. According to the San Bernardino Sun, a spokesman insisted "the reason that Bush is in Crawford, Texas, is due to the renovation of the West Wing of the White House."

Said the spokesman: "He's operating on a full schedule; he's just doing it from the ranch instead of from the White House. The only week he had officially off was this last week."

Whether he's on vacation or just away, USA Today notes he's been "shadowed by anti-war demonstrators" the entire time.

2. And the August vacations in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 were only...
working vacations during which he was pondering the renovations.

They do think people are stoopid!

13. Head spinning
"Now there are some who would like to rewrite history---revisionist historians is what I like to call them." - ** quote

So, what was the reason for such an extended vacation in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004?

Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 12:46 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
he was already morphing the reasons for war, and I had already in my posts on AOL had been calling him a revisionist. It was hysterical when that became the GOP talking point.

6. Why are they so defensive about it?

8. No idea but they did announce that they are redoing the press room
So if you thought the press was soft on them before wait until they get their new digs.

This is almost like an Onion article.

9. Give him a break people
We all know nothing changes when he is at his ranch, right?

http://slate.msn.com/id/2098861/

'oemer then asked Tenet if he mentioned Moussaoui to President Bush at one of their frequent morning briefings. Tenet replied, "I was not in briefings at this time." Bush, he noted, "was on vacation." He added that he didn't see the president at all in August 2001. During the entire month, Bush was at his ranch in Texas. "You never talked with him?" Roemer asked. "No," Tenet replied.'

10. BS! Ask them if they called to see if the Charters of Freedom were safe
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 12:24 PM by KansDem
...on 9/11. The National Archives building was being renovated then so we don't know if the Charters were exposed to the 9/11 attacks or not. They are kept in a protective case mounted on an elevator that descends into a bomb-proof vault in time of attack, but to date no one has ever mentioned if they were secured that day. After all, a plane could have flown into the National Archives, destroying Americans most precious documents, couldn't it? (Unless, of course it was known beforehand where they were going to crash). Ask the White House that...I'd be surprised if they knew the answer.
