I read this letter in the Duluth Newstribune today.

I'm a Northwest Airlines mechanic on strike and I want to express my appreciation to all the people who have been showing us support on the picket lines -- from a simple friendly wave to actually stopping by and chatting with us.
...
However, I would like to report that the Duluth Airport Authority has severely limited our freedom of speech by creating so called "boxes" that are 10-by-10-feet in size, and only "two people can be at the box." (By the way, the person who marked the "boxes" on the pavement does not know how to count past 8-feet, because that was the size the boxes were when we got there.) Also our "permit" allows for only 16 people at a time.
We do not mean any harm to anyone crossing our picket lines and we will not obstruct them if they choose to do it. But I'm glad that our forefathers were not "restricted" with these draconian rules, otherwise we would still will be working 12 hours a day, six days a week and gladly saying "Yes, Master!"
