If any of you seriously cant understand *'s way of thinking...
Then tune into CBN (The Christian Broadcasting Network). Seriously, just sit down and watch. I did last night for an hour and a half simply because I wanted to see why the other side thinks the way that they do. To be honest, I was very VERY affraid. The vast majority of the content was about the "impending rapture". C'mon people! Wake the fuck up! These people think the end of the world is coming and they will all be "saved"! This trash is being broadcasted to millions of people, and is believed by the vast majority of them.

For instance: http://www.cbn.com/700club/features/bringiton/endtimes-index.asp
From our friend Pat Roberts himself.

And for all you liberal "heathens" out there:
http://www.cbn.com/700club/features/BringItOn/issues-index.asp#13
I especially like the "How effective is using violence to stop violence?" section.

You cannot sanely argue with a person who believes that they have the ultimate truth on their side, and can never be proven wrong. THAT is why * will never appologise for anything. Because he believes that everything he does is according to a "plan". A man recently called into the Ed Schultz show asking all those listening to not question why things happen, only to accept that everything is going according toa plan. See everyone, arguing points on DU are pointless. We will all be left behind in the rapture if we are not "true" born again christians. As a catholic, I call the city of Las Vegas as my own.

So everyone, I encourage you to contact the FCC and complain (like I have many times). Ask for this extremism to be taken off public airway!

believe that human existence is controlled or influenced by a being no one has ever seen should not have the right to vote, they should just pray for their candidates.

19. Unfortunately, the majority of the population
believe in some kind of mystical omnipotent being. It makes me wonder if the 'good' people in this world are limited in their efforts to effect change since they can always tell themselves that God will make the evil pay for their deeds in the end, they will go to hell and suffer forever and we will go to heaven and be with our loved ones where pain and suffering no longer exist and live in happiness for eternity. IMHO - Religion is a mental disorder. I find it easier to believe in the existence of aliens than the existence of a god.

20. That's because we can see where aliens might live, how
they might have evolved and can understand how hard it would be for them to contact us through space and time. on the other hand there is no precedent for God and you would think he'd make an appearance from time to time, being omnipotent and all.

this is why the SCO is doing military exercises...
They know about this stuff and the large gap in rationality. They know as well as anyone else that these genocidal maniacs are trying to manufacture an apocalypse.

3. Can't do it...
I would suggest, rather than rallying for it to be taken off the airways, that you just don't watch. I say this for a couple of reasons. One: It's a freedom thing. Two: You give the religious right proof of there perceived persecution.

I say this as someone who loathes their ideology. Just my opinion... you will do what you feel is best for you.

of the Senate Intelligence Committee is now broadcasting on the 700 Club?

With the sewage that Robertson is squirting at everyone lately on the 700 Club, it kind of makes one nostalgic for the days of Jim and Tammy Fae Bakker and Jessica Hahnjob, don't it?

7. They have the right to speak...sort of like stretch pants are a right...
it doesn't mean they should.

I personally am aware and very afraid of those people also. Mainly because they're all complete morons.

Why?

Because you can have a Ivy League degree and millions of dollars, but if you are also a hopeless drug addict, then beyond everything you have, you are unequivically a moron, end of story.

Also, if you are so damn arrogant that you believe that God has a special place just for you because you joined a religion that I doubt is any more than 100 years old and are willing to jeopardize the freedom and very foundation of the Constitution to bend people to your will then you are the most vile of morons. You a moron's moron, a real true to life moronically stupid to the point of disfunction.

...I'll stop now.

:bounce:

10. yeah, what you said
Yuk. I was talking to a Muslim friend of mine about Pat Robertson (it's so fun to discuss politics with this guy, he's from Gambia, a patriotic American who can't stand *) He said in his country there are the same types. He can't understand why people follow them other than they don't know how to think for themselves.

13. Can you imagine the uproar
that would ensue if a Muslim leader in the U.S.advocated for the assassination of ...say...Tony Blair? Do you think Mr. Rummy would still be calmly talking about a private citizen's right to say what he wants? .....NOT!!!

15. Well...
to be honest, I just broke up with my girlfriend, and I needed something to watch to bring me out of a funk. Wit this whole 700 club thing, I thought, "You know I have the channel, but I've never actually watched the thing." I only flip through it with the utmost speed.

Now I have witnessed Evangelical churches do some great things with the disadvantaged. I've seen them take a bunch of abused foster kids and turn them into a lively group of almost normal children. However, when I sat down to their "welcome back" dinner with my girlfriend, I was glared at after I did the little catholic cross symbol after prayer. I still love my girlfriend (it was a breakup due to school distance), but I cant stand anyone at her church who would shun those who arent like them.

This whole issue will probably end up tearing this country apart. When it is so easy to demonize those who disagree with you (ie the Rapture Right) how easy do you think it will be for those "rightous" people (to quote Roberts) "to take you out". *Wink Wink*

I listened for awhile once and thought "this has to be parody", but it went on and on and on.
