What the hell is D.O.V.E,?
I got surveyed this afternnon about TV "being too edgy" (I assume sexy). I told them i found TV insulting and not educating, and that I wouldn't describe TV as too edgy. They hung up on me as I was griping about too much "reality TV".

Speaking of Reality TV, as much as I think Martha Stewart was railroaded to divert from Enron and other bigger fish, giving her TV spots does not send a good message to kids about what happens after one has cheated or broken the law.

The Dove Foundation Endorses ClearPlay's DVD Filtering Technology

One of the advantages of being the IT Director at The Dove Foundation is that I get to review any new technologies being introduced to help families enjoy entertainment without gratuitous sex, language or violence. One such product that has appeared recently is an RCA DVD player that uses “ClearPlay” filtering technology.

This DVD player is designed to actually edit films “on-the-fly” allowing families to watch movies that contain objectionable material without viewing or hearing the bad stuff. (more...)

3. I feel like getting rid of TV altogether.
Reality TV isn't entertaining. News shows, which I used to like, are nothing but screaming propaganda. I don't like sports. I do like a lot of the HBO shows, or PPV. I'm really trying to decide what to do.

4. Discovery, History Channel, Comedy Central
Late night Cartoon Network has Adult Swim which is hilarious.
Sci-Fi has a few good shows
Animal Planet is fun sometimes

Books seldom disappoint.

Yeah...we're just where you are on the 'Nothing to watch on mainstream TV'

5. I agree
History Channel, Discovery, TLC, Comedy, and the specials on PBS.

Oh, and DOVE called me last week, but did NOT care to talk to me because I have no children nor grandchildren in the house. I guess that means I'm ON MY OWN with all that gratuitous sex and whatever...
