Bolton throws UN summit into chaos
http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1556790,00.html

Bush's envoy demands 750 changes to reorganisation plans

Julian Borger in Washington
Friday August 26, 2005
The Guardian

John Bolton, Washington's new ambassador to the United Nations, has called for wholesale changes to a draft document due to go before a UN summit next month aimed at reshaping the world body.

Mr Bolton, a long-standing UN critic who was given a temporary appointment by George Bush three weeks ago after the United States Senate failed to agree on his nomination, has proposed 750 amendments to the draft and called for immediate talks on them.

The 29-page document has been drawn up by a committee under the UN general assembly president, Jean Ping of Gambia, over the past year, during which time several drafts have been circulated.

Critics complained that the US objections had come towards the end of the drafting process, with only three weeks to go before the summit.

he WANTS to be booed. Laughter would be harder to take.

take the US seriously anymore? Will we all have to travel as 'Canadians' when we go abroad so as to not get pelted with eggs or hooted off the bus??:freak:

12. Oh, we're taken QUITE seriously, I'm afraid -- because WE are the
800 lb. gorilla, the one with nukes and stuff and people crazy enough to use them if they get the chance.

Oh yes, we're being taken seriously.

(But I do know what you meant.)

3. Bush sent bully boy Bolton to the UN to pick a fight
Which he is promptly doing. A big, impossible, confusing fight.

But why? Why this particular pathway of GLOBAL Strategery?

15. Seriously, though. They do "intentionally" impose chaos,...
,...and destruction because they BELIEVE to do so FORCES human capacity.

I'm just sayin',...it's true. It's a "law of the jungle", actually far worse since we have the capacity to destroy the jungle, kind of brutal, barbaric thinking. They don't believe in the capacity of humanity to create something greater than id-driven barbarianism.

They are the darkest of human potential.

21. "But why?"
Excellent question. It's been said that our leaders make rational decisions within a lunatic framework. I'm not exactly sure what that framework is, but I guess that's why we're talking about it.

:toast:

they have stated that there goal is to cause MORE terrorism, they believe it will justify their war and aggression to make them even RICHER and more POWERFUL.

they know FEAR is a POWERFUL motivator.

Rumsfeld's Defense Science Board proposes 'prodding' terrorists to terrorism

A new Pentagon strategy aimed at luring terrorists into committing acts of terrorism has been recommended to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld by the Defense Science Board (DSB). The "DSB Summer Study on Special Operations and Joint Forces in Support of Countering Terrorism" claims that since the global war on terrorism "requires new strategies, postures and organization," it was advocating the creation of a super-Intelligence Support Activity, called the "Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group (P2OG)."

...

The DSB's recommendation for a Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group appears to be in line with President Bush's National Security Strategy, which called for preemptive military strikes. Military Analyst William Arkin writes that P2OG would "bring together CIA and military covert action, information warfare, intelligence, and cover and deception." The organization "would launch secret operations aimed at 'stimulating reactions' among terrorists and states possessing weapons of mass destruction -- that is, for instance, prodding terrorist cells into action and exposing themselves to 'quick-response' attacks by U.S. forces."

33. All the status quo institutions are falling apart
the media, the governments, the churches. They are all corrupt, and the corruption is being revealed.

All the status quo institutions will likely continue to implode. It's time for them to go; time for something new, healthy, respectful, and sustainable to replace them. This I believe will come to pass.

35. She is the breed of dog I want!
I have been researching Cavaliers for a while, and think I would like to have one. We have had several dogs, a Chesapeake, an American Water Spaniel, and both lived long and healthy lives (for their breeds) but now have been 'dogless' for about 4 years. I think the Cavaliers are the sweetest dogs. Give Isabelle a hug for me!
(Oh, and I want a pair, and have picked out the names, Clementine and Winston!);-)

13. The UN should ignore Bolton...
...seriously.

Why in the hell would they even entertain his outrageous, RUDE, crass and dumb-ass 750, 11th-hour suggestions.

Seriously, the entire group should treat him like he's behaving--like a myopic, self-absorbed toddler who shows up late for the birthday party wanting everything his way.

The world needs to look into that Mark-Twain-on-acid face of his and say, "John. Those are nice suggestions and we appreciate you working so hard on your big report. However, the group is wrapping up our final report and we do not have time to give your thoughtful suggestions the time they deserve. However, we will be willing to look at them for the next report. Now, would you like to help us pick out a color for the report cover or would you prefer to help with the last-minute edits?"

Frickin frackin fruck. Why is BushCo shaming us all on the world's stage? Do they want everyone to hate us with the white-hot passion of a thousand burning suns?

25. Bolton completely changed the meaning and neutered it
yep that's the ticket -- he NEUTERED the document.

examples of deleted bits that Bolton objected to:

Deleted -- "respect for nature"

Deleted "so as to maintain international peace and security."

The bushies continue their attack on women and children -- Bolton deleted this: "in particular for women and children" . . . from the following We reaffirm that gender equality and the promotion and protection of the full enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for all <deleted bit here>, are essential to advance development, peace and security. We are committed to creating a world fit for future generations, which takes into account the best interest of the child. <amazing Bolton left in "the best interest of the child" the fucker didn't replace child with fetus??>

More neutering here: "Deleted: and to provide the Organization with the resources needed to fully implement its mandate." <so Bolton says -- go ahead and make a declaration and don't expect it to be funded.>

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/docs/us.comments.pdf

Download and READ this!

YES we expected Bolton to be this much of an asshole -- this guy needs be medicated or put in JAIL. Oh hell -- the whole damned bunch needs to be jailed.

27. I wonder -- does Bolton expect the UN Representatives to
roll over just like the democrats?

I really hope that some of the members get really pissed.

I read the whole damned thing -- and this is the biggest insult I've seen in a very long time -- but typical of the reports I've read about the demented Bolton. That guy is really sick -- he is a terrorist. Hell the whole damned bushie gang is a terrorist organization.

There is no way I will go to a family wedding coming up in October -- because I want to scream at my husband's cousin's family -- they are a bunch of right wing GOP terrorists. There would be a food fight - god/dess I hate those people -- they are a danger to the whole world.

I'm pissed and I wasn't even involved in writing that document! What must the people who worked in the committee -- who came to a consensus over the wording etc -- what must THEY feel like when they see a total revision and reformatting?

Bushie is a 10 year old in an old man's body -- BUT he has also surrounded himself with bullies of the same mentality.

This world will be so badly fucked after 3 1/2 of this bushie terror crowd -- can the US EVER recover?? Will world diplomacy every recover?
