Bush supporters and war protesters plan debate
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 12:12 AM by Quixote1818
Anyone else hear about this?

Bush supporters and war protesters plan debate — (08/25/2005)
Supporters of President Bush and war protesters have agreed to a face-off.
More Bush supporters are expected to be in Crawford this weekend, just in time for a debate between the opposing camps.

During a press conference earlier today, Cindy Sheehan agreed to debate supporters of President Bush.

A group from San Diego called "You Don't Speak for Me Cindy" spent Thursday night in Amarillo. They are expected to be in Crawford for the debate Saturday.

The group already made a stop in Sheehan's hometown of Vacaville, California. They want to show that not all Gold Star Families feel the same way Sheehan does.

6. I heard Cindy on Randi Rhodes and she knows her stuff!
She has as much knowledge as those of us here on DU and she is extremely smart. She is not just a regular Joe but someone with an incredible amount of depth and smarts.

Their Sean Hannity talking points will be blown out of the water instantly by Sheehan.

9. I want to hear Bush debate!
I know it will never happen, but if he is such a "confident, determined, resolute" leader...why does he always get someone else to do his job? Let's hear BUSH...our "confident" leader... talk about the issue.

(He always manages to deflect the attention away from his own inadequacies!)

It's amazing...
...that after almost $200,000,000,000 spent on a bloody election, the ousting of a tin-plated dictator who had nothing to do wioth 9/11, no ties to terrorist groups, no WMD's, almost 1900 war dead, the cutting of VA benefits, stop-loss orders, three tours of duty, National Guardsmen held over in Iraq when they should be our first line of defense here at home, still inadequate armor for the troops after almost two and a half years, no constitution despite three delays, a complete and utter callous disregard for the war dead and the fact that Halliburton engineers and executives are the best paid, protected and armored people in Iraq, that the GOP can still pack people into the showers that mysteriously don't have soap.

May these rancid cocksuckers burn in Hell on Judgment Day.

5. If I was one of the debaters here's my opening statement
"So we went to war to kill Islamic Extremists right? so what you all think of the fact that we removed a man who HATED Islamic Extremists, we've completely destablized the region the ruling Shiites are going to turn the nation into an Islamic Theocracy......so what exactly has been accomplished?"

7. I would love such a debate!
I am concerned, however, about what kind of moderation there is going to be.

Will it be like the faux news shows where the pubes get to yell over the person who is kicking their ass with facts?

I think a real debate is a great idea.

I think a faux debate would be hurtful.

12. It totally undercuts the propaganda potential for the press and Bush
On the other hand, having heard Qualls, I have no doubt Cindy would hand him his brains in a bag after one round.

8. I'd have to bring notes.

Why? Because the pro-Bush side always goes off on tangential arguments unrelated to the topic at hand... likely it's either a diversionary tactic (but that's assuming they have the intellect to do that) or they just lack the ability to stay focused on one topic at a time.
