Antisemitism and conservative attacks on the "liberal media" |
|
When conservatives attack hollywood, liberal media, liberal colleges, etc, how much of that is inspired by antisemitism?
In my opinion, there seems to be some link, though I'm not sure how much. The image of the secular jew editing a newspaper seems to be a common target for conservatives.
Any thoughts?

Strauss, Perle, Wolfowitz, Henry Kissinger, Milton Friedman, Alan Greenspan, Bill Kristol ... plenty of jewish people in the upper eschelons of conservatism. Plus, cons and neo-cons alike just LOVE Israel.
And nominal Democrat Joseph Lieberman attacks Hollywood, too.

IMHO... there might be some underlying tension there, but I don't think that its there reason.
As an ex-Repug, I personally thought (and still do in many ways) that the media pre-2000 was particularly biased -- I realize many don't agree. I think possibly the worst of it was there reporting on the Bush 41 presidency post Desert Storm.
Today, I think its mostly a talking point; however, I think there is a significant disconnect on social issues between the media and flyover country. The media, mostly based on the coasts, still tend to poorly report on issues that effect the heartland.
