If anything, this was a faith based funded call for assassination.

Love For Sale: Faith-Based Grant Buys TV Preacher's Favor

What a difference four years and $1.5 million makes!

On Feb. 20, 2001, TV preacher Pat Robertson expressed grave concerns about President George W. Bush's "faith-based" initiative. Addressing his "700 Club" audience, Robertson opined that the scheme could lead religious groups to become dependent on government handouts.

"his thing could be a real Pandora's box," Robertson said. "And what seems to be such a great initiative can rise up to bite the organizations as well as the federal government. And I'm a little concerned about it, frankly."

Robertson went on to warn that "federal rules will envelope these organizations, they'll begin to be nurtured, if I can use that term, on federal money, and then they can't get off it. It'll be like a narcotic...."

Robertson also expressed concern that unconventional religious groups would get the aid, a point that has proven prescient in light of report of faith-based money going to followers of the Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church and reports of public schools in California using an anti-drug program tied to the Church of Scientology.

Eight months later, a Robertson charity called Operation Blessing received a three-year, $1.5-million grant from the federal government. And guess what? Robertson hasn't uttered a word of protest about the faith-based initiative since.

No organ music but truth nonetheless.

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and you’re okay.
Money, it’s a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I’ll buy me a football team.

Money, get back.
I’m all right jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, it’s a hit.
Don’t give me that do goody good bullshit.
I’m in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a lear jet.

Money, it’s a crime.
Share it fairly but don’t take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise it’s no surprise that they’re
Giving none away.
