2. They don't want to because it scares off big business donors
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 02:48 PM by Selatius
There are some influential members of the party who would say that instead of resorting to this childish "name-calling," we should instead concentrate on something more "constructive," like "winning the war" and not "cutting and running" like so many "cowards on the left" advocate. I agree about "winning the war." I just don't think it will be had by increasing the tonnage of bombs dropped or increasing the size of the force over there. I believe it's just going to create future problems.

War is a racket. There's money to be had in war. Continue to buy defense stocks. It's good for your wallet and the economy. It's the American way. Look, just forget about the moral/ethical issues. Just go for the money. This was what helped IBM make so much money selling counting machines for the 3rd Reich to keep track of those they killed.

4. And a lovely Melody from Mississippi shall lead them
Good on you girl. I really don't understand the "be polite" mode. The monster in the white house is getting our kids killed. You keep raising hell way up north in Oxford Dear; I'll try to keep the volume loud down here on the coast. The Democratic Party is not dead in Mississippi, By God!

5. The Dems are professional losers
they are trying desperately to snatch defeat from an almost certain '06 victory. Kerry shuld have called him a liar to his face, he didn't ,he showed them all how to lose. The Pukes will start the pullout next year for the elction's sake and leave Hillary and Schumer, and Feinstein, biden etc, screaming for more of a losing war, standing out there looking like the chickenhawks they are.Oblivious to the calls from their constituents.

11. The news of the DSM came out long before the break.
And they could not talk about that hardly at all.

I'll be real suprised if we see a sudden sea change after the break.

10. Remember when we BEGGED and BEGGED them to talk about the DSM?
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 03:44 PM by Dr Fate
And all we got was a behind the scenes letter form Kerry, and one single, brief mention of it from Dean on TV?

They wont tell the truth about Bush, because they are frightened that Sean Hannity will compare them to Micheal Moore or that "traitor bitch", Cindy Sheehan.

Look for more soft, fuzzy, focus tested issues from last year, from the DEM "strategists" who lost the last 3 elections. I hope 4 is the charm.

If they called Bush a "liar"- or brought up the DSM, they would actually have to get their fingernails dirty, do some reasearch and be able to take on a bunch of other red-faced TV liars on those interview shows.

The strategists who lost the last 3 elections are still telling them to be "safe" and "nuanced."

Forget it- top DEMs will never, ever, EVER use the "L" word on TV- it is too blunt, honest, to the point and confrontational.

12. If we haven't heard them making any sounds yet
I doubt the "Wahington Dems" are going to start any time soon. Other than the few vocal ones - Kennedy, Conyers, Kucinich, Byrd, the Black caucus, I'd say the silence speaks for them. Who knows what's gagging these Dem leaders? Probably fear of exposing some hypocricy; ambition; favors owed. Who knows? Whatever. I've put the silent ones off my list. They can't be counted on. They're MIA at this point.

14. Seriously, and thier excuses not to do so are totally bogus
and based on the assumption that that it would be an exageration.

But they must know full well that not only does Bush lie constantly he is 100% garunteed to keep lying. This is as safe as it gets. Once you get the idea out there that he is a liar, just sit back and watch as people start catching his lies as he tells them, its really not difficult to do.

But instead they hide behind the facade of civility along with the media and keep reinforcing the idea that the president should be given the benefit of the doubt when he clearly shouldnt be.

15. they should call him a liar and a fascist dictator
They should be screaming election fraud from the rooftops. They should be screaming about gestapos and death squads whenever the gestapos and death squads come out. And so on and so forth.

There's really only one possible conclusion: they don't believe a word they're saying. They're up there to put on a show and con people into thinking there's any part of the government or Congress that gives a damn about natural persons as opposed to juridical persons, embezzling more of our tax dollars, and sadistically brutalizing people in prisons and military assaults on unarmed civilians.
