But easily fooled is the worst one.
I can live with stupid republicans but when they follow Hitler down the road to Hell, I get agitated by these brainless followers. They dont have a original thought in their bodies. Its why you hear the same talking points over and over for years and years.
Take away their Fuhrer and their Fox news and they'd sit in a corner of their Mothers basements mumbling incoherently.

4. Well, He Himself alluded to other "gods"... |

When He said "I AM the LORD thy GOD! Thou shalt have NO other gods before ME!"
Now, if there was only ONE GAWD, WHY would He feel it important to admonish His churls to acknowledge no "OTHER" gawds?
Hmmmmm?

6. In the Gnostic tradition... |
|
Which I studied 25 or so years ago while on my Search, I came across this, which Wikipedia was so kind as to refresh my memory on...
"In the Apocryphon of John (in the Nag Hammadi collection), the Demiurge has the name "Yaltabaoth", and proclaims himself as God:"
"Now the archon who is weak has three names. The first name is Yaltabaoth, the second is Saklas, and the third is Samael. And he is impious in his arrogance which is in him. For he said, 'I am God and there is no other God beside me,' for he is ignorant of his strength, the place from which he had come."
What I had read about Yaltaboath is that when He made His proclamation, His MOTHER (sophia I think) retorted with something to effect of "Says YOU, little boy!"
This Demiurge, some say, took the name that is commonly deciphered as "Yaweh" when he started messing with the people of Israel.
Gnosticism is fascinating.

Early Israelite religion, remember in Solomon's Temple there were more than ONE shrine to more than one God, to give an example Asherah, consort to El, head of the Cannanite Pantheon, later "merged" with Yahweh to become the One and Only God. Many other minor gods are also part of the Pantheon, most related to Yahweh and Asherah, children and so forth. Worship of them fell out of favor, archeologists believe, around the time that Israel was sacked. Back in those days, each nation had a head god, and a separate pantheon, conquests and so forth showed the strength of said gods, and when Israel was conquered, there had to be an acceptable religious explanation, that of a God above all Nations, rather than many for many nations.
