Campgrounds in or near DC?
Husband, 2 kids and myself are considering making the journey to DC on the 24th from Oklahoma. We are going to try to keep it as inexpensive as possible, and thought about camping. Does anyone know of any campgrouds nearby?

5. excellent. Please keep them coming
I'm going to do a lot of investigating. Right now it looks like the trip will cost us around $550, plus the 19 hour trip from Tulsa, OK! (according to Yahoo)

$200 gas, round trip (toyota echo, 36mpg, baby!)
$72 2 nights tent camping @ $36/night
$150 food
$100 misc (there's always a misc!)

6. tent camping
although, I would be grateful to have a trailer! But, it shouldn't be too hot in September, so tent camping works.

11. Terrific, that's the way my family saw all the US. PLease consider
Prince William Forest Park and Shenandoah National Park for at least one night. They are close to DC.

Have a wonderful trip. Wish we could join you.

:hi:

10. There are some in Virginia that are close to D.C.
I looked them up a few years ago as my late husband and I planned to go there awhile back. (Never made it.) I couldn't find any in D. C. at the time, but since this was years ago, things might have changed.
