Iconoclast reports 2000+ at Camp Casey tent 12:45 CT
12:45 p.m.
Gene Ellis reporting for The Iconoclast

There are probably 2,000 people or more in the big tent at Camp Casey II. There is a rally under way on the stage with a man, and now the entire audience, singing God Bless America. Coordinator Ann Wright spoke for a few minutes earlier. A huge luncheon is set out with people lined up. Another busload of people is driving up right now. Parking is pretty much maxed out now.

Ann Wright is currently speaking again. You can smell barbecue cooking. Programs on stage are continuing during the day. Gatorade and water is being passed out among the crowd.

People just keep piling in. It is very hot.

There is going to be a wedding tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Camp Casey II. The bride says she will find and wear the cleanest T-shirt she's got and the money that would be have been spent on the wedding will go to the Peace House and Cindy Sheehan's group.

7. wow!
I think other threads say that the freepers are crowing about getting 400 to their rally.....hope that the freeper parade doesn't disrupt things. Reports from Camp Casy I on wbai said that 2 freepers have been arrested, but the peace folks are staying cool.....

11. CNN did a live report
about 1:20 p.m. CDT, Lavendera reporting. Showed the Boosh supporters directly behind him. Didn't look like very many people there. When the camera swung around to Camp Casey, it only went part way--didn't show all of Camp Casey. He was asked if the numbers were pretty evenly divided. He stumbled, mumbled, hemmed, hawed, and ended up saying they probably are! Dip shit! He went to great length to say there were 2 or 3 locations in Crawford where pro-war rallies were being held. All in all, it was a meaningless report.

12. Do y'all think that these Bush lovers
can or might try to start a fight? I think that I wouldn't put it pass them to try something more then just shouting or cross over to Camp Casey to scream at the folks at Camp Casey. I just keep getting this nasty feeling.

13. 2 have been arrested for interfering with a police officer
They are not allowed to cross the road. Only Bush can do that.

I think our port-a-potties are going to torment them as the day wears on.

14. That so funny.
I wonder how long one can really hold it and just knowing that there are potties just a cross the street.
