I am watching this live Fox News Alert by the Governor of Louisiana urging people to leave now. This is some serious shit.

I hope you're thinking of evacuating, or at least going to a shelter!

2. If you are in or near New Orleans ... |
|
Please take this opportunity to evacuate. You don't want to be stuck on the roads when that storm comes in, and believe me, you will be if you wait til the last minute.
Gather your important documents and anything else of great value, and head as far inland as you can. The further inland you go, the more the storm will be ground down by the time it reaches you.

Similar to Betsy 40 years ago. Betsy had a crazy loop turn in the Atlantic, crossed over the Southern tip of the Florida peninsula then hit New Orleans about how this storm is supposed to hit, with the eye passing just to the west. Problem is, this storm is bigger and more powerful than Betsy. I'll tell you all about it when the power comes back on here. In October.

6. Please take pictures of your personal items before you leave. |
|
You'll want proof for your isurance company if the storm takes your house away. Also, if you do leave, do not go to a hotel or a friends house, go to a storm shelter.
