"Our soldiers are doing what it takes to keep another Sept. 11"

http://198.65.14.85/News/2005/31-40/34news19.htm

Updates from:
'You Don't Speak For Me, Cindy' Campaign
Deborah Mathews reporting for The Iconoclast

2:20 p.m.

Deena Burnett, wife Tom Burnett, Jr. who was on the plane that crashed into a field during 9/11, just spoke, saying, "We have a responsiblity to our troops. Our nation stands divided. This war is not about us. We fight for those who can't fight for themselves like my husband did.

"Our soldiers are doing what it takes to keep another Sept. 11 from happening anywhere in our world.

"Thankfully, our leaders didn't sway with public opinion and not fight. I stand in support of our troops," she continued. "Our troops are promoting a better quality of life for the people in Iraq. I commend them for that and I thank them for their service to America and the world."

The mother of Army CWO Eric Kesterson, said, "My husband and I are not here speaking out. We are speaking up."

A man is now being carried away via ambulance. He was conscious, but his condition is at this time unknown.

People are still coming in by droves. There are probably 3,000-4,000 people here now and still coming.

5. If it was another Sept. 11th they are worried about then we should never
have gone into IRAQ and concentrated on bin Laden and maybe the Royal Family in Saudi Arabia who are currently screwing us for everything we have.

7. And what about the innocent civilians we've killed?
Oh yeah. Right.

Our lives are more important than theirs. Their lives don't matter.

Aren't these the unspoken thoughts they keep hiding behind what they're saying? I don't know about you, but I consider that to be immoral.

12. True.
I asked a war supporter at a debate whether the doctrine of preemption basically said our lives are worth more than anyone elses, and he said yes, that he'd "rather see 1,000 dead Iraqis than 1,000 dead Americans." But that assumes the Iraqis were going to attack us. Bullshit.

"Our soldiers are doing what it takes to keep another Sept. 11 from happening anywhere in our world."

VS...

Osama Bin Laden, Letter to the American People (Nov. 2002?)

As for the first question: Why are we
fighting and opposing you?

The answer is very simple:
(1) Because you attacked us and
continue to attack us.
...
(E) Your forces occupy our countries;
you spread your military bases
throughout them; you corrupt our
lands, and you besiege our sanctities,
to protect the security of the Jews and
to ensure the continuity of your pillage
of our treasures.

(F) You have starved the Muslims of
Iraq, where children die every day. It
is a wonder that more than 1.5 million
Iraqi children have died as a result of
your sanctions, and you did not show
concern. Yet when 3000 of your
people died, the entire world rises and
has not yet sat down.

11. She should have pushed for an attack on Saudi Arabia, then, not Iraq.
Bin Laden hated Saddam and his secular regime. Saddam put down radical fundamentalists in Iraq since they were a threat to his regime. Saudi Arabia on the other hand supported them as long as they targeted other countries like the US and left the Saudi regime alone.

Too bad combating terrorism wasn't a priority on Bush's agenda despite all those warnings he got thoughout the spring and summer of 2001.

Bush has been completely incompetent and indeed a disaster in preventing and defeating terrorism and yet these folks continue to support him and his policies....
