FUCK YOU CNN: PRO WAR 3000 CINDY HUNDREDS
http://us.cnn.com/2005/US/08/27/crawford.rallies.ap/index.html

More than 3,000 people were expected at the school football stadium for the culmination of the "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour that started last week in California.

Meanwhile, hundreds were expected at Sheehan's camp for a somber Saturday ceremony honoring soldiers in Iraq.

"after the email Im going to write to them, Im sure they are going to block all emails from my address."

CNN has turned on their Bushco propaganda machine. Call them on their lies
They are reporting bullshit lowball numbers and showing week old footage of Casey Camp 1 and no photos/footage of Camp 2....

11. The numbers are all over the board right now.
Reuters said the pro-war group said they had 2,000 but it looked more like 1,500. I think we are just hearing a lot of different BS from all sides right now. I don't know if we'll ever hear how many were really there.

Remember, what you hear on CNN, MSNBC, etc are stories being read from a teleprompter. Right now, I'm sure they're all getting all kind of estimates from all sources.

12. Corporatist Media is following General Meyers "Orders"
Edited on Sat Aug-27-05 07:07 PM by SimpleTrend
Bolding in excerpt below added by me

""The most important thing we have ... right now in this kind of conflict is our will and our resolve," Gen. Richard Myers, outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at the
Pentagon, adding the U.S. public does not get the stakes.

I think it's incumbent on the national leadership, writ large, to help communicate this to the American public," said Myers, reporting on a 10-day, 18-base tour that included Iraq,
Afghanistan and bases in Asia and Europe.

Clearly, the Corporatist Media gets their marching orders from the Pentagon.

15. My note to CNN:

At least 12 months since I've watched anything on CNN. Your coverage of this administration and the Cindy Sheehan issue more than justifies my position.

CNN once was the World's leading news reporting system. Now you are "nothing special." Your don't appeal to the right...FOX got you there. And most thinking Americans don't even bother with broadcast news, choosing instead to use the Internet. Sucks to be you.

Proud to be CNN free for more than one year!

16. Not to defend CNN, but it discusses expected amounts, and not
actual ones. Also, if you want to hold someone accountable for this, AP has to take a share of the blame for publishing it in the first place.

Bush supporters gathered for an event marking the culmination of the "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour, which started last week in California. The crowd of about 1,500 chanted, "Cindy, go home!"

"You are giving hope and encouragement to the enemies of America," said former California Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian, a Republican who co-founded the group that coordinated the rally.

Meanwhile, busloads of war protesters gathered several miles away at "Camp Casey," named for Sheehan's 24-year-old son who died in Iraq last year. Several hundred people attended a bell-ringing ceremony honored soldiers serving in Iraq.

23. They can have a little credit, but which is more important?
1) Giving us accurate information in real-time.
2) Analyzing 3-year old information.

(my own answer is both are important, IF they're both truthful)

25. It would be easy to jump on this bandwagon
I don't like CNN. Generally I agree that they are little more fair or balanced than Faux News.

But, they did just do this "Dead Wrong" documentary that has had favorable reviews (HERE on DU).

What do I know?

Not much--don't even have a television--but even though there are numerous reasons to revile CNN they did just produce and broadcast this Dead Wrong documentary.
