DU's in Path of this storm LA, AL, TN, AR, etc.

This thing is soooo huge and the winds my still be really fast long after it comes on shore. Even though your not in an evac situation.. you might want to prepare for high winds.

This is a NORMAL preparedness measure for those who live along coastal waters. For the rest who don't live in such areas, these things don't come as "naturaly".

When Charley came through over my house last year, it was still a Cat 2, 110pm. It was equated to being in a F1-2 tornado for 3-4 hours. Inland houses are not made to with stand that kind of wind, for that lengh of time.

KNOW WHERE YOUR INSURANCE PAPERS ARE. AND ANY IMPORTANT PAPERS. If there is major damage, you will need those right away.

So, clean up your yard.. EVERYTHING makes a possible missle! Secure everything. Leave nothing outside.

Take pictures off the wall. And anything else that might be shaken down. You can do this after you realize your really going to get some "wind." This measure isn't to save the objects, so don't feel like your putting items over the wealfare of people. It's to keep it from flying off the wall from being shaken to much. If it's breakable, then you might have to deal with steping on broken stuff, etc....

Basicly you getting ready for a really big Tornado. Only you get a major warning ahead of time. These things spawn LOTS of real tornados, even if not in the direct path of the eyewall. So don't think your in the clear, just because your not getting a "direct hit." The media doesn't spend enough attention to THAT important bit of info.

I hope the winds of this thing drops quickly. But if not, please, please.. do as much as you can ahead of time to be ready. Let all your neighbors know before it's to late for them to do anything. It's not a time to remember "hatred" for your neighbors. If they don't know... then let them know. What's in THEIR yard most likely will be missles to you and everyone else..... If people need help.. Help them. It's a neighborhood effort.

Good Luck! I will be thinking about all of you guys in the way of this Monster....

1. Mississippi
is, according to predicted tracks, in far graver danger than Arkansas. I just saw some gamblers in Biloxi who were saying they'd leave "around 11 Monday morning." This is NUTS. The eastern side of the hurricane will get the most wind, rain, etc. PLEASE, folks in MS, especially near the coast, GET OUT NOW.
