Did anyone actually see Bush today?
I tuned in to CNN a few minutes late to hear the big address. I expected to see Bush behind a podium. Instead I heard what appeared to be a poorly done audio recording. Why was the message recorded, and why only an audio tape?

2. He's hiding from "the bad lady"
and all of her friends at Camp Casey?

(radfringe had a cartoon where he had Bush's Secret Service label Cindy "bad lady" and I still chuckle when I think about it)

9. The economy is still going to be reeling from this 6 months down the road.
As bad as it was, 9-11 only involved a couple buildings and several thousand people. This is going to hit gasoline production for a while and may disrupt grain shipments as the harvest comes in.

11. The lower Mississippi is a major corridor for oil refineries and
chemical plants. If they're all down for more than a few days, we're all in trouble.

6. CNN showed video later?
This still seems weird. Why not a live address? Why couldn't the White House get its act together and deliver a decent tape on time? Is he at Crawford today os still on vacation from vacationing on the ranch?

14. I agree. Why in the world could they not do a live feed from Crawford?
It is pathetic.

7. They cut away when he started babbling about Iraq
Even CNN is starting to tire of the propaganda. At least I hope so.
dubyas mouth was moving around real uncomfortable like. It is either the cokejaw or the anti-smirk device. The president can't be smirking while NO is under seige.

8. Blitzer played part of the video later on...
First, he aired the full speech in audio only. (Really bad audio, as you noted. Sounded like the man was calling from Mars. Really boosted my confidence that he's readily reachable down there in Crawford. .{sarcasm} .) Then Wolf aired the thing with full video. Bunnypants has a very nice tan. Fortunately, just as I was about to go into a rage at the thought of having his bullshit REPEATED in its entirety within a 20 minute span, Wolf cut it off...at the end of the hurricane warning message. I'm relieved. I'm running out of bile, to say nothing of choler.

23. Cindy has him treed! Yes!
I think I've heard in the past that when GeeDub does an address while in Crawford, they set up a podium (w/pres. seal and all) in the high school gym and the press all gathers there. Now, with Cindy in the vicinity, the CHICKEN-hawk is afraid to ride into town!

18. Getting out my tinfoil hat marked Weather Control Satellite
If there were to be another 9/11-style terrorist attack, the neocons would be in huge trouble, given the size of the population quite ready to believe they were responsible in some measure for the first attack.

But a natural disaster...there's something the country can rally around! And you can be sure the Chimp will be front and center to take care of things (so long as he has carefully-screened audiences and a war chest of Pentagon money vanished from Iraq). Of course, the lack of a national guard to help straighten things out might hamper matters a bit...but maybe he can get the Army out there instead...
