Shame on the N.O. Homeland Security
They have people lined up outside the SuperDome to be searched for, bombs, weapons and drugs.
I can't think of a worse place for these folks to take refuge, but why further humiliate them by implying they may want to either, shoot up, blow up or get high in the SuperDome.

Oh well, they're just a bunch of Black folk......:evilfrown:

7. I'm not joking !
the news guy on channel 4 just said they had 10,000 plus still in line to be searched for weapons and drugs. Also, they had to delay the first group until they could get the dogs there.

SON OF A BITCH !!!

21. Yes, they are searching
And, unfortunately, they are also finding stuff.

According to news reports, they've already confiscated guns, knives and drugs.

Don't know about you, but I would rather not be locked into a huge building with armed and desperate people.

3. The poor black people get the "shelter of last resort."
They told them to bring food and water and now they have to search the bags of food and water, which is seriously delaying entry into the Superdome. Did they do this on purpose?????

8. they better make sure they're done searching when the storm hits
or we're going to have one very nasty stampede into the stadium and I don't think Superdome or Homeland security are up to the task.

that it is not necessarily racially motivated. It's more of a class thing which is pretty sad in itself. Sorry I didn't try to explain earlier.

Both VC-25s (Air Force One and decoy) would be ferrying people out along with Every transport the airlines and the military could muster.

Hell, If * could lend one VC-25 to Reagan's family to take St. Ronnie's corpse to California, he could lend tham to get some poor people out of New Orleans.

20. they have to have security
they absolutely MUST have security at the Superdome.

They can't let people fend for themselves in such a huge crowd, security is absolutely essential.

22. I'm sure you're right if this were happening in NYC
but NO is probably the friendliest city in America. This crowd looks to be 90% black. They are going to pull together as we've always done in times like these. There's no need for this kind of bullshit.

BTW I realize you were being sarcastic. :hi:

26. I was not being sarcastic
I'm sure the authorities know that if they bungle the security at the Superdome, the first person that will be on their asses will be Jesse Jackson, because the victims will be African Americans and there's a long history of neglecting their welfare.

23. Got to share this with you guys
My husband and I wondered why they weren't doing an airlift of some of the citizens of NO. My husband called the mayors office , then unto the Emergency Operations Center, then to FEMA.

The Emergency Operations center thought that this would cause a run on the airport but wanted him to call FEMA. FEMA mentioned they don't have enough airplanes in the US to assist the population.

Hubby then called CNN and spoke to someone who couldn't believe FEMA's response. They asked him to send an email with the names of the people he spoke to, which he did. CNN is also worried about the SuperDome and said the local govt will put 70,000 people in there.

I personally still think it's Bull Shit that this country couldn't have done a humanitarian airlift. This country and it's govt should hang it's head in shame.
