3. I hate to be really really morbid here.
but having visited in N.O. many times, there are thousands of above ground graves there and crypts... can they withstand the force of this water.. speaking of toxic soup.

9. you didn't know about that? Well, it's true.
The graveyards pretty routinely get hit like that in New Orleans, though since the move to mausoleums and other more rigorous burial practices the risk of corpses getting unearthed by flooding has been reduced, but not eliminated.

5. The reconstruction will be immense!
I wonder how much fill soil it would take to rebuild New Orleans (if, god forbid, it is necessary) at a higher level, enough to keep it above any future surge.

8. If the chemical industry is hammered as hard as it seems it will
be, it could be truly uninhabitable for much longer than that.
