Wow! Maybe the emergency people were reading DU! |
|
Many of us were complaining that there is no food in the NO shelters and I just heard that the Nat. Guard has delivered MRE's to the Superdome, as someone here suggested.
Maybe we shamed them into action!

3. Yeah, this is something that was in a Disaster Plan somewhere. |

That sort of thing doesn't happen on the spur of the moment. Plans to make it happen when needed would have been drawn up long ago, and was one of the things the "state of emergency/disaster" declarations put into motion.
We can help in a lot of ways here at DU, but don't take credit for people not being stupid. There's more to the government than the Bush WH and Congressional Republicans. ;)

9. I have a feed from the WWLTV.com |

Local CBS affiliate; it is constant updates from around town, but still not inside the dome. http://www.wwltv.com/perl/common/video/wmPlayer.pl?title=beloint_wwltv&props=livenoad

4. You know, I was wondering about that myself... |
|
Actually, I could care less who thought of it, I'm just glad they got some food in there...
Did anyone hear if they've brought clean potable water? I missed that...

They brought food and water--enough to last for 2 days.
