Martin Sheen at Camp Casey II - article and photos:
Sheen began his speech with a brief history of vigils.

“It is an Irish tradition. When a person had a disagreement with a landlord, for example, that person would vigil outside that landlord’s home until he came out to talk with them,” he said. “You all know what I do for a living, but this is what I do to stay alive.”

2. Sheen loves this line:
"You all know what I do for a living, but this is what I do to stay alive"

I've heard him say that myself before, and he's been quoted as saying it several times. Must be his motto :)

3. Thank you! Sheen is awesome and inspiring.
He does what others in his position should be doing. I feel that those with such visibility have a moral obligation to stand for those that can not. imo.

5. I'm not the president but I play one on TV
He would make a much better prez than that gutless weasel who is too chickenshit to meet with a grieving mother.

9. Sheen is a dedicated Peace Activist.
I think that puts him on the "Acceptable Celebs that can visit Cindy list."

8. Sheen lives his convictions.
I have enormous respect for the man. Someone posted a letter the other day published in Stars and Stripes from a soldier in Iraq who had written to Martin Sheen. Sheen not only responded, but has been sending care packages and keeping in touch with the man's family at home ever since. A genuinely caring human being.

10. Yep. Not just talk, but ACTION - That's this man's legacy.
Puts his money and his body where his words are.
