Is it just me or is anyone else sick and tired of the media reporting
on the Superdome who keep asking questions about the mood of the crowd inside and who keep bringing up the incident of frustration that happened yesterday when the people were standing in line as though they just want a report of rioting and discontent? And yet everyone one reporting FROM the dome keeps saying that the people inside are amazingly calm and cooperative but the pundits from the studios keep pressing for some kind of negative news from inside. It's just sickening to me to see this happen on every cable news station reporting on NO. Brian Williams, to his credit, keeps giving positive reports and keeps telling this idiots that the people are friendly, cooperative, and willing to follow orders from the NG without bitching. The engineer from inside the dome reports the same thing about the people.

It isn't enough that these people suffered some of most humiliating and ridiculous searching before being allowed inside, some families with very small children in line for more than four hours. Some of the broadcasters reporting from the studios just seem to want something bad to happen to or among the people inside. It is disgusting. Not one broadcaster in the studio has made a statement to start off their report like "The word we have been getting from inside the Superdome is that the very large crowd inside is extremely cooperative and attempting to make the best out of this terrifying situation." I hate the US MSM!!!

1. They want the 'black people' to revolt
They can't wait for a race riot.

3. 'Bad' news.....
...sell better. 'Good' news seem to be a bore these days. Even tho why they think this damn storm isn't bad enough I'll never know. I guess reports of rioting and scuffles with the NG would liven things up a little....

4. I now know why I so rarely watch TV news coverage.
The coverage is offensive. It's like a bunch of jackals sitting around waiting for something gruesome to happen.

Agree 100%
and I recall, on Friday I think it was, after it went through Florida, one of them, CNN I think, discussed the storm like it was a little inconvenience. Her attitude caught me more than her words. Seven people died, and I forget what she said, but it sounded, to me, sick, because she didn't seem to have those deaths in mind, while discussing the storm. Seven people died from it, la la la

And those are they types of reporters reporting? Figures. They'd just love an outbreak of violence. Long as they aren't caught up in it.

6. I have heard that the crowd is behaving exceptional and the
guards are very impressed with how orderly everyone is being. Even with the rain coming in, no one so far is panicing, I have seen them giving them alot of credit?

They have engineers in the Dome as well to help keep an eye on structure, though the roof is not exactly holding up, the rest of the structure is withstanding the assault..

I give those inside alot of credit and alot of prayers, from the reporter I heard, they deserve both.

9. It doesn't surprise me at all that the people are rational and calm
I hate it that our media feels free to lay such negative expectations on the "average folks", and then when they don't get it, they fake it. And I can't imagine that helps the actual victims at all. What a lot of creeps. These people are in for some of the worst conditions of their lives, some of them, and people are going to die no matter what. Christ on a stick, give some credit to the bravery of our people, media talking heads.

Has it occurred to anyone else here to join an Indian tribe or something, the last year or so, to vacate civilization, for a while at least? If they welcome outsiders that is, an Indian tribe...anyone else wonder if they'd put up with outdoor water easier than the life these rather insane and greedy authorities are trying to hand us? Sounds stupid. But so did Peak oil and a war waged on purpose and a national election frauded TWICE...crazy is as crazy does.

Cause if this is civilization, where a huge hurricane is entertainment and made more so when possible by media creeps, give me back to basics and you can keep the tv too.

12. Good post and one I whole heartedly agree with, they do have
a tendency to fake drama for the sake of ratings..it is sick.

8. If it bleeds, it leads... Yes, I'm tired of it, but then I try not to

watch it that much, either. After all, why help their ratings if I don't have to?

10. I think Don Henley said it best
in his song Dirty Laundry I think this pretty much says it all with regard to the MSM.

"I make my living off the Evening News
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
comes on at five
She can tell you 'bout the plane crash with a gleam
in her eye
It's interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You don't really need to find out what's going on
You don't really want to know just how far it's gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down

Kick 'em when they're up
Kick 'em when they're down
Kick 'em when they're stiff
Kick 'em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody's pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do "The Innuendo"
We can dance and sing
When it's said and done we haven't told you a thing
We all know that Crap is King
Give us dirty laundry!
