Is it true that Sheehan met with Bush previously?
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 04:12 PM by EOO
I need some clarity on this. Especially since some Republican I'm trying to argue with thinks that I'm clueless because I didnt know this previously.

3. Yeah, that would be before she was clued in to the fact that the war
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 04:11 PM by kenny blankenship
was based on lies about WMDs and lies about links between Iraq and Al Quaeda.

Lying changes everything. That's why they call it lying. And it's a bad thing even when thousands and thousands of people aren't murdered over it.

8. But, but....she doesn't HAVE a dead kid!!!
That's why she can meet Chimpy as many times as she likes. So long as she regards her husband and kids as fodder for the king, she has a Gannon pass!!!!

7. She was at a group GRIP AND GRIEVE
Chimpy does them on occasion...herd the families in, meet with them in small groups, pat, pat, boo hoo, sorry fer yer loss, and on to the next one. It was not an opportunity for substantive discussion of the issues, it was an audience with the fucking boyking. Noblesse O-fucking-blige.

They are shocked, shocked, that she didn't feel blessed after the encounter.

10. He Met With A Mom In Idaho Last Week At His Press Pimpalooza
That he met once before. Soooo it is OKIE DOKIE for him to meet with a Mommy that agrees with him about his illegal and immoral war more than once BUT he can't meet Cindy again?

This little RW meme is just fucking lame. He should meet with any grieving parent, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, fucking dog catcher, as many times as THEY want. They have lost their loved one. Who the fuck puts a number of meetings on that? Only the little boots. What a fucking disgrace.

Shameful coward and Fuckwittage. I hate this dog turd. Really.

14. Like I noted, that mom had no dead kids
Her name was Pruett, she was a good sized woman with a huge smile and an empty head. Her husband and one son have just come back from the sandbox, and she has four others who are either there or on their way over. None have died. She made the incredible statement that if one of them bit the bullet, it was okey dokey because that is what they would have wanted, or some such bullshit.

She is a lobotomized fool, either that, or she craves the BLUE STAR MOTHER (what you are before your kid gets killed and you get a GOLD STAR) spotlight so fucking much, she would gladly sacrifice a kid or two to make her point. So long as she smiles and cheers, she gets the Jeff Gannon pass, come on by, whenever!!!

I don't wish her family any harm, but I cannot help but wonder if her perspective will change if one of them comes back in a box???

Read all about Tammy Pruett here: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/iraq/complete/la-na-bush25aug25,1,2818375.story?coll=la-iraq-complete

16. Actually It Was Another Woman Who Had A Son Killed
That Bush and PR Team hauled out for this event. Her son was killed in January of 2004 and she was still happily grinning and hugging the giggling murderer. It was so fucking disgusting and cruel.

And this stupid in denial creature was giving Bush some love. Making her sons death OK. Oh My GAWD my son who is going to Iraq in 8 days and I can not stop bawling my eyes out because I know what fucking danger he is in and for WHAT? And I see another mother embracing this fucking SHIT...and her child is dead? I want to throw up.

20. Binka, are you affiliated with the military?
If not, and you are near NASSIG, find a military friend to do your mailing on base so that you will not have as long a haul for mail and care packages. The mail routes go through Azores, Germany, Naples and Sig, and thence to the ME. Sometimes they send it via COD to carriers, but there are frequent mail flights out of Sig--they have a fairly good sized mail processing center there.

Tell your son to not take risks, to keep his armor on, his helmet on, you do not care how fucking hot it gets, and to listen to his gut when approaching any dicey situations. If it smells bad, it usually is.

I wish there was something I could do, but there is not much anyone can say to assuage you, because you are in an intolerable, horrible, and fear producing situation right now--I do wish you were not going through this.

22. Not Military Now Funny Though Dad Is A Flag Officer
Grew up in a military home. Big heavy hitting military home. Holy shit it was the temple we worshiped at. My partner has no connection to the military he works for ST Micro here in Sicily. The compound we live in is ALL military or DOD workers. I have a good connect at Sigonella to send packages.

I am beside myself with Ben. I am a long distance runner and I have yet to shake my fear even when I have kicked out ten miles. I have a four year old and I wonder if she is here because Ben has to go? He is so smart and gifted just like Peyton. When I found out I was expecting PEY I said Holy Shit Gawd you are not gonna take one of my other kids are you?

Now I just don't know. Here is Peyton and me last week with my sis visiting

Here is Ben and I

My heart is so broken.

23. All I can say is try to hang in there
Which is lame...I wish I had power to give you some meaningful help.

Is he with you on leave? Spend as much time together as possible, if that is the case. You may be able to find a way to meet up in Kuwait or Bahrain, depending on his assignment. I think there are civ flights heading that way from Catania.

You have a beautiful family, and you look far too young to be that handsome fellah's mother!

Try not to worry, it does not help him if he realizes you are freaking out. I know that is an impossible task, but try to focus your energies on supporting him and helping him out with the small stuff--the candy, the socks, the unscented baby wipes, the beef jerky, all the small crap that makes the time a bit easier to bear.

Does he know where he will be assigned, and has he shared that with you?

24. I am meeting him in Kuwait September 10th
I am leaving Peyton home with daddy so I can give Ben the attention he needs.

He is going to Ramadi. Not sure which post they will be at. He knows I am freaking out. We know each other too well I can't hide that fear from him. Thanks for the "young" compliments, I am 46 BTW. Four children and 4 + decades later I am just a survivor. He is a kick ass kid.

Pray that he just comes home. I love him so fucking much. He is my first baby. I was two years younger than he is now when I had him.

Hey Boy, Ray Pey And I Are Goofin For You

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!

28. Right backatcha
Ben will be busy in Ramadi...it is a Sunni town, and as we know, they aren't thrilled about the draft constitution. If you can call any aspect of our presence over in that sandbox a bright spot, the Army has plussed up their presence there, so the USMC isn't shouldering all the load, which makes his situation not quite as bad as it could be.

If you need to vent, let me know via pm. I'll be thinking of you, Ben, and the rest of your lovely clan.

26. I remember my Mom telling me about the stars during WWII
People would display them in their windows of their homes showing how many kids they had in the service. Great Grandma had three stars in her window, because Mom had three Uncles who volunteered for service, in a TRULY noble cause. It was a huge point of pride for the family. Mom pointed out that it was the gold star that you DIDN'T want. Luckily, they only displayed blue stars.

9. Cindy did say that she was in shock during this meeting
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 04:23 PM by Proud_Lefty
and meeting the president did kind of feel like an honor at the time. But as the shock wore off and things, like the DSM, started coming to the surface, she reflected on this meeting and realized that he was just grandstanding and far from sympathetic to their situation. It was truly a staged situation, no questions asked. This meeting she's asking for now is one they can't prep him for.

By the way, saying that one meeting with the president should be sufficient is a very lame argument. Can't believe people are still using it. Does that mean anyone whose met with me once is free to never meet with me again?

I will fucking dog this asshat to the depths of hell. He thinks he is a runner? I will not respect his little attitude that nobody can over take him. Sorry Bush I run faster and harder than you and YOU will deal with me.

Ben is going to Ramadi next week. Ready to take me on Little Boots? Get your shoes on fuckwittage. NOW!

11. NO
I refuse to categorize that mass gathering as a "meeting".

The RW mentality thinks a "meeting" is an audience with His Highness, just to be in His presence.

I think Cindy has more a conversation/meeting in mind.

17. If it takes a dozen meeting with Cindy or any one else who wants
TRUTHFUL answers from the LIAR about his so called 'noble cause' , so be it! What's this shit that he met with Cindy once and that's all she is entitled to? As Cindy has said, bush** is our employee and he needs to be held accountable for his decisions and ultimate consequences of his actions resulting from his 'crisp' decisions. These double standard hypocrite repugs would NOT stand for the same dodging out of a Dem President! Hell, they impeached Clinton for 'lying' about a private matter, for chrissake!
